WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for a Community Impact professional (Lead) to join us on a temporary contract to cover a parental leave. The right candidate will be a member of the EMEA Social and Community Impact team focused on delivering impact to the community and the business.
We are looking for someone to join us in May 2025 until January 2026.
The candidate needs to have strong partnership management skills and experience in working with non-profits / sport for development as well grant- and donations management.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
We are looking for a Lead who will be a critical member of our Nike team in Berlin. You will be working with the Social & Community Impact team for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
You will help manage the SCI portfolio of partnerships in Berlin and Germany in support of our mission to create the Future of Youth Sport. For this portfolio, there is a specific focus on Football.
This includes but is not limited to:
- Managing key community partner relationships in Berlin & Germany
- Engaging partners with aligned goals to build and implement impact programs and events for youth and coaches, incl community- and federation partners
- Supporting preparation of the upcoming partnership with the Deutscher Fußball-Bund (DFB) towards 2027
- Synthesizing local insights to understand the opportunities and barriers to getting kids and youth active;
- Researching and understanding the diverse youth sport landscape across Germany
The Lead will be responsible for the full grant making cycle: proposal approvals, contracting, reporting and budgeting. It is expected that this person will establish strong connections to a variety of Nike functions and external stakeholders in Berlin and Germany while identifying opportunities for integration and collaboration. Finally, you will support the SCI EMEA team to help local teams plan for powerful storytelling, internally and externally.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
Based in Berlin, this role reports to SCI Brand Principle for EMEA, and collaborates closely with the EMEA SCI and Global SCI team. The role will partner cross functionally with Sports Marketing, Brand Marketing, Communications, Legal, Finance & Operations and Communications amongst others.
WHAT YOU BRING
Demonstrated experience in:
- Managing multi-sector partnerships, including with NGOs and sporting associations
- Pro-active and self-starter attitude with the ability to work across multiple different projects at one time
- Managing grant making processes and strong project management skills to achieve team results;
- Experience in football / sport for development landscape
- Experience of supporting and leading cross-functional initiatives by networking, building relations, taking a collaborative approach and influencing others;
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with external partners and collaborators, and within Nike;
- Experience of a corporate environment working with brand marketing and communication teams
- Knowledge of the social impact, corporate responsibility and sports sectors, especially community- and school-based sports programming;
- Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills with proven ability to structure and deliver content that inspires and engages others;
- Comfortable using of presentation tools such as Keynote and Powerpoint.
- Fluent in writing and speaking in German and English.
