WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

The Sr. Supplier Manager role is responsible for working with AirMI's supply base and internal functions to mitigate risk and ensure supply continuity for our facilities globally. This position reports into Purchasing and Supplier Management within AirMI's Supply Chain team. You will work in partnership with AirMI and NIKE, Inc. functional stakeholders that include Engineering, Supply Chain, Planning, Maintenance, Facilities, Production, and other various functions. This role is located in Beaverton, OR. This role is not a hybrid position and requires the candidate to work in an office environment.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or other related area, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of practical experience required managing suppliers in a manufacturing environment, preferably with materials (forecasting, service levels, pricing, supplier development, supplier performance, relationship, and compliance management), including transformational leadership concepts, project management, change management, and theory of change in a matrixed organization. Experience with transactional leadership concepts, defining KPI's, analysing and solving problems.
  • Large ERP (SAP, Oracle) system experience in purchasing and supplier management modules
  • Ability to maintain a flexible attitude and approach towards assignments and successfully operate under ambiguous guidelines
  • Previous experience in manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience in leading cross-cultural, cross-functional and virtual teams (including functionally diverse work)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills (including ability to define problems and lead teams in solving them) with peers and leadership
  • Comfortable presenting data in large groups
  • High level of proficiency in using desktop tools for communication and analysis, including MS PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Preferred experience with ISO9001, and material planning processes

Travel: 5% of time

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

You will work in a fast paced multi-functional environment across the organization managing supply and pricing of materials, goods, services to our facilities. This role will be responsible for new supplier set up, problem solving, leading teams through business reviews, and engaging with the technical experts with both the supplier and AirMI to solve complex problems. You will provide ongoing escalation support for supplier issues/concerns, track and report on metrics, support technical calls, and work closely with planning on forecasting for materials. You will be the voice to our suppliers giving them guidance and translating forecast information, answering questions.

In this role you will:

  • Utilize your subject matter expertise across various global functional areas in manufacturing , services, supplier management expertise to deploy Supplier Management (Risk Assesment/Planning, business continuity, supplier onboarding/offboarding, contract execution, performance management, relationship management)
  • Manage initiatives with internal/external functional goods and service leaders
  • Need strong team management and influencing skills in order to lead the coordination and deployment of supplier performance requirements
  • Need to collaborate with global teams to ensure the highest level and consistency of performance
  • Ability to navigate the Nike and Air MI "Matrix" of internal stakeholders and collaboratively make fact-based decisions informed by collective expertise, strategic business priorities, stakeholder input, and most importantly data driven metrics
  • Facilitate meetings with suppliers and internal NIKE and Air MI stakeholders (e.g. project, performance, compliance, risk, innovation reviews)
  • Measure related performance and supplier performance indicators
  • Develop and execute project plans leveraging project management tools/methods
  • Develop, communication and execute on relationship reviews in the Air MI functional supplier portfolio
  • Build and manage transition to ensure business change readiness with stakeholders (e.g. roles/responsibilities, processes, tools, systems)
