WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Senior Manager to lead our Footwear Product Testing team in Core Footwear. We are seeking a candidate you has experience testing product, excels in the team environment, and has the ability to lead and inspire people. You will leverage your technical knowledge and consumer expertise to help drive product excellence. You will help set and support a strategy across multiple sport dimensions that adheres to Nike's product performance standards. You will demonstrate an ability to lead and develop talent, partner with cross functional teammates, and communicate effectively.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As a member of the Core Footwear leadership team you will help drive vision and set the strategy that will drive business results. You will be the internal voice of the consumer, helping us to center consumer product feedback to inform and improve product performance and quality. Footwear product testing leverages a set of product standards to make decisions and suggestions on how to improve product fit and performance then partners with engineers, developers, product managers and designers to get critical product changes implemented. Key tenants of the role are as follows:

  • Leading, developing and investing in the team. You will manage a team of 4-5 people.
  • Facilitate an inclusive team culture that recognizes and celebrates diversity.
  • Contribute to the larger Core footwear strategy. You will sit on the Core footwear Leadership team
  • Set seasonal multi-project product testing plans.
  • Build strong partnership with footwear product testing org and ensure seamless integration of Core specific strategies and enterprise product testing standards.
  • Partner with cross-functional WHQ, and offshore teammates to provide solutions on how to improve product performance, durability and fit.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will be a member of the Core footwear leadership team and report to the Vice President of Core footwear. You will lead a team of 5 product testing analysts and work alongside a cross-functional leadership team from Engineering, Development, Design, Materials Development, Product Management, and Merchandising. You will establish and maintain relationships with testers internal and external to Nike.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, technical experience or training.
  • Minimum 4+ years relevant industry experience working in footwear, sports, or other consumer packaged good industries
  • Minimum 2+ years people leadership experience
  • Ability to process non-routine information and convey complex information across divers stakeholders and audiences.
  • Optimistic, self-directed, and action oriented.
  • Proficient in written and oral communication
  • Highly skilled at utilizing different styles and techniques to communicate and motivate others to action.
  • Cultivates an environment in which differences are openly shared, embraced and incorporated into team culture.
  • Leads with curiosity, has a growth mindset and is willing to seek out the "why" and seeks to understand.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
