The GC, Brand Creative Store Concept & Design teams are the driving force behind Retail Innovation in Greater China. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Nike seeks a Store Concept & Design, Sr Creative Director for the Greater China Brand Creative Studio. An innovator, who will help pioneer and test new GC concepts as well as continue to support and develop seasonal campaign creative direction and store design for Nike's current retail ecosystem - whilst pursuing an online to offline connection. A strategic, collaborative and creative team leader, who will develop impactful and scalable creative solutions for immersive retail environments and experiences. Always looking to expand the possibilities of immersive environments to build creative solutions that reflect Nike's design ethos and improve the consumer retail experience. You will need to have a track record of innovative creation of store architecture and environment and emerging technology to build impactful stores, spaces, consumer engagement and interaction.

You can work across several design subject areas such as Architecture, Environmental Design, Fixtures, Materials, campaign display, storytelling and store journeys. You will need to ideate creative concepts, illustrate your ideas and be hands on as you lead projects to completion.

You will work across multiple projects, partnering closely with the GC Brand Design studio teams, agency partners and marketplace leaders to deliver highly innovative and immersive concepts and executions with an ability to level concepts to business needs. You will deliver comprehensive store and retail campaign design creative strategy, concepts and stay tapped into the pulse of future design trends. We are looking for someone who shares our drive and agility to explore the new, who is passionate and determined to create boundary-breaking experiences. Ultimately, you will help push the design team into a new era of design thinking, with a vision to elevate the immersive retail environments and experiences our studio crafts.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

  • Supports and partners with Geo VP, Creative Director to lead store concept vision, strategic, tactical direction and design continuity.
  • Work directly with marketplace and business leaders to identify needs and best approaches for new and ongoing workstreams
  • Lead a design process of clear ideation. Focusing on strategy and exploration of architecture, environments, materiality and use of the environment.
  • Cohesively lead multiple differentiating teams with several distinguishing functional expertise and skills sets to drive an interconnected offense and gameplan
  • Ensure project goals and priorities align with Nike retail store, brand and business strategies (art and science) whilst looking for opportunities to innovate within set parameters.
  • Encourage a studio that is constantly seek new and innovative ways to design consumer experiences through architecture, materials, fixture, environment, experience and 3d mediums - At scale
  • Directs the development of presentation materials that effectively communicate creative direction and design concepts to all levels of leadership, functions and partners.
  • Collaborate with Geo peers, Global design counterparts, internal partners (Nike Store, development, Brand, Retail Brand, Brand Creative, Digital, etc.) and external partners to ensure feasibility of designs and functional needs are met.
  • Actively gain knowledge and experience regarding Nike's design ethos, the Nike matrix, products and processes.
  • Drives education and inspiration, sharing knowledge and exposure to current and future trends influencing the innovation of consumer experiences and technology
  • Obsess the nuances of the sports consumer in Greater China
  • Addresses staffing needs and challenges to ensure project demands are met, team has appropriate skill mix. Working across project teams and retail design org.
  • Leads design processes to ensure results, timelines and budgets are met.
  • Strong ability to work upstream, effectively elevate strategic concerns, assert influence in final outcomes.
  • You may travel 10 - 50% of the time.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

Under the direction of the GC VP, Creative Director, and in partnership with peers, you will realize innovative, original store design, retail environments, fixture and displays and campaign spatial solutions for retail stores. You will lead a team of architects, environment, fixture and retail brand designers. You will collaborate with internal and external design teams to complete multiple projects and ensure the creative intent, design results, timelines and budgets are met. You will partner with the GC brand design creative directors and Global retail design partners to bring retail design excellence. You will partner with marketplace and business leaders to assure ideas conform to needs and constraints.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive, technically sophisticated design experience in architectural, experiential or brand creative and a demonstrated ability to apply these skills in ways that elevate brand excellence.
  • Bachelors/master's degree in architecture, industrial, or environmental design, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Showed strength in managing a design team or studio in the delivery of progressively complex projects of scale, budget, and size.
  • Proven track record of good judgment and ability to contribute meaningfully to the determination of policy and strategy.
  • Proven track record of motivating teams, managing ambiguity, and effectively collaborating in decision-making.
  • Tried expert in applying and performing design skills, including concepting, drawing/sketching, architecture, ideation, color theory, materials, texture, and spatial design in scale, visual presentation development and space planning layouts.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as guide teams across a mix of complex projects.
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to current trends in color, design, art, photography and experience design and their application to the athletic industry.
  • Expert oral and written communication and presentations skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations to senior management.
  • Ability to work cooperatively across streams and territories to share ideas and develop effective responses.
  • Proven ability to work in a constantly evolving, high-growth environment.
  • Positivity and eagerness to do great work in a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing work priorities, demands and changes.
  • Demonstrated expertise using computer design applications including Keynote, Miro, SketchUp, Rhino, Grasshopper, V-Ray, AR/VR and Adobe Creative Suite
