We seek someone with FW product experience who brings products from development to manufacturing and utilizes tools and systems to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness across multiple functions. We seek someone with experience in a role that requires gaining buy-in from a broad range of product creation and/or factory partner stakeholders to improve product manufacturability by leveraging analytics, problem-solving decision-making, and communicating to simplify the complex. Leverage consumer insights to optimize business and product performance through the lens of sustainable growth. Someone who has experience driving and pursuing trade-offs that have the greatest benefit to business and product. The ability to consider all critical inputs and impacts of decisions and involve the right stakeholders from the beginning to bring a new tech to life. WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As a Senior Footwear Product Engineer, you will focus on product excellence, connecting marketing consumer insights, NIKE mechanical and material testing, and divisional and functional best practices that ultimately drive and support quality, craftsmanship, and efficiency within a collaborative team environment. You will review samples and Tech Packs (Physical and Digital-Technical Drawings and 3D files) on each development gate from development through commercialization and manufacturing. You will establish, implement, and update best practices. You will support costing initiatives throughout the development process. You will collaborate with offshore and onshore teams, providing input on design constructions, product engineering standard processes, material choices, costing optimization, and construction. You will connect the WHQ product creation team, our PCC, and manufacturing partner, driving cross-dimensional engineering initiatives.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

As a member of the Core team, you will collaborate with key footwear functional partners: Innovation, Design, Product Management, Product Development, Material Development, Product Testing, Value Engineering, Partner PCC and PMO Teams, Global Sourcing and Planning, and Operations Teams. You are the key point of contact between our PCC/PMO partners and the WHQ product team and must ensure that communication during the product development and commercialization process is complete, clear, and accurate. You will work across multiple sports and lifestyle categories each with their own best practices, performance standards and build requirements. You will need to navigate the NIKE matrix to ensure that our processes model and match NIKE Footwear Engineering divisional and functional standards and methodologies driving product excellence. This role reports to the Engineering Sr Manager in Core.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, experience or training.
  • Minimum 4+ years' relevant industry experience working in Footwear, Development, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in reading technical drawings, design sketches, and/or 3D digital files and linking them together as a system approach to identify potential problems and/or challenges and provide complete problem-solving/options and solutions.
  • Knowledge of lasts, footwear pattern engineering, tooling, material, test methodologies, and manufacturing processes is highly preferred.
  • Ability to identify and drive valuable engineering solutions from the conceptual stage to manufacturing.
  • Ability to communicate proficiently with multiple internal and external partners.
  • Digital literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office, Miro Board, spreadsheets, database management, and proficiency with 2D/3D CAD/CAM tools and pattern engineering software, is a plus.
  • Value differences and be able to work across cultures while navigating NIKE's organizational matrix
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
