Senior Buyer, Global Inbound Transportation Procurement

Who are we looking for

We are looking for a Senior Buyer, Global Inbound Transportation Procurement who will join the team to be a leader for our sourcing events and liaise with our partners, while keeping the inbound transportation strategy and collaborator relationships top of mind! We need a Senior Buyer for international ocean, inland drayage and air freight, origin consolidation and customs brokerage. This role reports into the Director, Inbound (First Mile) Transportation for Global Procurement Supply Chain.

What will you work on

You will work with the Inbound Transportation Category Leads, Global Transportation Capabilities team and Geos to define high level objectives, gather requirements to successfully design, run and manage large scale sourcing events for international transportation and origin consolidation and customs brokerage. You will complete sourcing events with clear timelines and secure Nike's best interests with proper SOW, SLA and/or KPIs incorporated. You will drive the selection process of the most appropriate and cost-effective suppliers based on collaboration with internal business partner groups to ensure that Nike's strategy driven by Service, Cost, Convenience, Quality and Sustainability is brought to life!

Who will you work with

Collaborating with Global Transportation Capabilities and Geography teams is key to understanding how the business runs and a key component to running successful sourcing events. You will maintain business relationships with Global Finance and Legal to ensure alignment with financial targets, savings goals and ensuring operational requirements are reflected in Contracts and Nike is protected with contractual commitments. Throughout these processes you will collaborate to ensure best in class practices and industry trends are accounted for in our approach.

Qualifications

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years relevant work experience in supply chain procurement and sourcing.
  • Relevant industry experience focused on supply chain, international transportation modes, specifically ocean, inland drayage, and air required.
  • Strong analytical background including ability to use data to tell stories, ask questions and find opportunities.
  • Project management skills including developing timelines and action plans.
  • Experience working cross culturally on global categories.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with e-sourcing tools preferred.
