WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We need a Sr 3D Modeler to join our team at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon. Part of Nike's digital evolution hinges on the ability of the 3D production modeling team to create and oversee the creation of photorealistic footwear models. Our best senior modelers are technically minded, strong communicators, highly organized, and expert with a breadth of digital tools while ambitious to learn new programs and techniques. They collaborate on high profile objectives, efficiently problem solve, and enthusiastically support special projects as needed.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

You will utilize your highly proficient polygonal 3D modeling skills coupled with detailed technical inputs to contribute to the creation of product accurate 3D footwear models that reflect Nike technical guidelines. You will additionally ensure consistency and quality across a large volume of assets while taking and applying feedback in a timely and iterative manner. You will self-manage project resources and track project status to keep the team updated on progress. You will identify gaps in workflows and aid in the development of tools to streamline production. You will present the work to others as needed and professionally represent the team.

You will contribute to the onboarding, mentorship, and quality control of Nike's footwear production 3D modeling teams and 3D modeling teams based at external partners. You will review models completed by others, provide feedback, and work with the artist to improve skills. You will help oversee portions of small to mid-level projects while providing guidance to junior artists involved and keep Leads and Managers up to date on project status while working to proactively problem solve.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

You will work on the Consumer Product Brand Marketing Operations (CPBMO) production studio team alongside other world class 3D modelers, material artists, visualization artists, and producers. You will report to 3D production studio management and meet with global digital partners, footwear product, and technology stakeholders. You will also collaborate process and workflows with the footwear 3D design teams.

WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE

  • Bachelor's degree in Design/Art, 3D Art, Game Design or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education, experience, or training
  • 5 years' experience successfully delivering 3D models in VFX, gaming, or similar studios OR 2+ years' experience working with Nike 3D teams
  • Expert in polygonal modeling techniques.
  • Highly proficient understanding of procedural workflows.
  • Highly proficient understanding of form, topology, and UV unwrapping.
  • Highly proficient understanding of 3D software general use.
  • Proficient understanding of pipeline workflow.
  • Working knowledge of applying colors & materials in Substance Painter.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proactively seeks new learnings and shares knowledge with others.
