WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for an exceptional Footwear Product Designer 2 to combine their experience, problem solving abilities, and creativity to help create the future of Jordan Footwear.
The ideal candidate needs to be a highly creative problem solver, who doesn't settle for anything less than the best design solutions, to meet the needs of the consumer or athlete. This person will be focused on elevating the consumer experience through superior product craft, and will push the limits of Design.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
If this is you, you'll be partnering with the Jordan Materials, Color and Development teams, and bringing to life the seasonal creative direction through Footwear Design, future forward trends and innovations.
As our Footwear Product Designer 2, you'll work under the direction of the Senior Design Director to create innovative designs for basketball products and partner with the cross-functional team to create from concepting through to reality. You'll also utilize consumer insights to create compelling solutions for athletes in lens of both performance and style. As a support member, you'll help finalize tech packages, assist our Expert Designers & Sr. Design Director (Product) to create the next era of hoops shoes. You will also proactively follow the execution of all product details, including construction, color, form, style, detail, fit performance and cost/value requirements; and review all samples and clearly communicate changes required.
From concepting to creating tech packs, from working with manufacturing partners to communicating directly with athletes, the daily responsibilities of this role are wide ranging, challenging, and rewarding.
WHOM YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will be partnering with the Nike FW Industrial Design, Color Design, Graphic Design, Digital Design and Development teams, in bringing to life the seasonal creative direction through Footwear design and innovation.
WHAT YOU BRING
Design Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Industrial Design or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least 2 years experience designing and developing innovative footwear and other products
- Ability to translate consumer knowledge and insights into product solutions and narratives
- Strong Photoshop, Illustrator skills
- Must be able to build accurate 2D technical drawings (tech packs)
- Cobbling and prototyping skills are a plus
- 3D design program experience are a plus
- Strong sketching, illustration, and rendering skills
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
- Must be able to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each project
