WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
You will report directly to the Director of Vendor Strategy under the Head of Vendor Strategy & Business Management for Global Technology. You will work closely with peers in Performance Management, Partnerships and Innovation, Vendor Business Management and functional partners such as Procurement and Legal, along with stakeholders in Global Technology.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for a Principal in Vendor Strategy to join our newly formed Vendor Strategy & Business Management organization in Global Technology who will be part of a team of dynamic, high performing professionals supporting Nike's strategic technology initiatives. They'll be an integral member of a team responsible for building trusting and meaningful relationships with our technology executives across multiple technology functions. They must have a strong understanding of foundational technology vendors and frameworks and be prepared to think creatively to solve complex problems. They will be expected to have an above average understanding of contracting (software/hardware/professional services), experience researching and developing market insights, experience drafting and present data at the executive level, can demonstrate influence in decision making processes and work well on a team.

This role will serve as a member of Vendor Strategy and Business Management organization specifically residing on the Vendor Strategy team. As an individual contributor, you will be responsible for of development and deployment of vendor strategies for our critical partners and objectives while ensuring we create return on investments and build valuable relationships with and between the NIKE matrix and our most strategic suppliers.
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, finance, pre-law or related field with 8+ years directly relevant work experience in Technology Strategy, Vendor Strategy, Vendor Management, Technology Procurement, or Technology Business Operations Management or a related field.
- MBA, or graduate degree preferred
- Knowledge of contract structure and key terms
- Knowledge of and experience delivering programs and / or projects
- Ideal candidate has experience creating and managing multi-year strategies
- Experience working directly with Hardware, Software, Cloud/IaaS, and Security (HW and SW) sourcing including experience negotiating strategic multi-year contracts with Tier 1 Technology suppliers (examples include Microsoft, Salesforce, Adobe, Amazon, and others).
- Ability to drive insights from unstructured data
- Excellent writing skills including but not limited to executive whitepapers, comprehensive strategy documents and market insights reporting
WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON
As a Principal in Vendor Strategy, you will be part of the vendor lifecycle process, ensuring we lead our most important partnerships with a Strategy-first mindset. You will review unstructured and structured data to drive insights and opportunities, test hypotheses, work closely with partners across the business, prepare and brief our executives and ultimately drive value for NIKE. You will work closely with others on the Vendor Strategy team and larger Vendor Strategy Business Management (VSBM) team to ensure consistent value and delivery to our stakeholders.
