WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

This role will play a vital role as part of the South East Asia & I ndia (SEA&I) Social & Community Impact (SCI) Team, while collaborating closely with the business teams based in SEA&I and Asia Pacific and Latin America (APLA). You will report to Senior Director, SCI Asia Pacific who is based in Tokyo. You will build partnerships with variety of functions in both SEA&I and World Headquarters (WHQ) in Portland, Oregon including Government and Public Affairs, Communications, Brand Marketing, Leagues and Grassroots, Consumer Constructs, Nike Direct and the broader global Social & Community Impact (SCI) team to align and steward the investments.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Principal Social & Community ImpactAffairs to join our South East Asia & India (SEA&I) Social & Community Impact (SCI) team in Bangalore. This role leads and guides local teams in managing a portfolio of external partnerships and engaging employees in community across India . Ability to leverage corporate and non-profit experience, understanding of brand integration and communications while also building relationships and driving operational excellence are all key to helping us win as a team.

  • Proven capabilities to lead cross-functional initiatives by taking a collaborative approach and influencing others.
  • Experience of a corporate environment working with brand marketing and communication teams.
  • Experience playing a leadership role in multi-sector partnerships, including with government, NGOs, sporting associations and multi-lateral groups.
  • Planning and managing corporate volunteers
  • Knowledge of the social impact, corporate responsibility and sports sectors. Direct experience working in these sectors in India is strong plus.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

You will be responsible for developing and implementing the Social & Community Impact (SCI) strategy for Nike India . You will assess and focus resources on a portfolio of community investments that create positive youth experiences in sport and play, and increase the ability for all people in SEA&I to thrive. A typical day/ week addresses the needs of both internal and external stakeholders to positively impact the community. Examples include leading collaborative approaches to train and develop coaches, building our community investment portfolio, identifying employee engagement opportunities, and executing an integrated communication and brand plan to support and amplify community initiatives or brand led events and activations.

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Sustainability, Project Management, Marketing, Business or anything equivalent.
  • Minimum 8+ years of professional experience in Social Impact/ Corporate Responsibility/ Non-profit Sector.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills English as a requirement, Kannada & any other regional language are a plus.
  • Ability to work across multiple different projects at one time, supporting different initiative tracks.
