WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

Are you a strategic problem solver, with a background in accounting who is passionate about keeping teams organized? We're seeking a Operations leader for the Global Controlling function!

You will play a meaningful role in supporting our VP, Corporate Controller. This position is highly collaborative, cross-functional, and impactful. You'll be responsible for the long-range strategy, short-term operational execution plans, financial management, and the delivery of functional programs and solutions for employees!

You'll use your strategic approach to lead by positively influencing others, show strength with your high-profile communication skills, as well as keep the team organized with an effective operating model. Partner with senior leadership to develop the Controlling function's global strategy, identify, and evaluate critical priorities, and catalyze action against these priorities through the strategic and business planning processes.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As an operations leader, you will be responsible for:

Strategy Development & Operational Execution

Be a thought partner to the VP, Corporate Controller, and Executive Leadership team to define Controlling strategic and operational plan, establish success criteria, measure actual vs. plan results, and drive cross-functional offense across teams to achieve strategy and ensure resources are allocated against the highest priorities.

Financial Management

Partner with the Global Business Planning function to align on the annual operating budget, proactively manage the budget, identify risks and opportunities, drive performance management actions, and facilitate a monthly review of actuals vs. plan with the Executive Controlling Leadership Team.

Chief of Staff

Facilitate regular leadership meetings that establish priorities and set goals for the Controlling organization while driving accountability through quantifiable metrics and dashboards. Drive communication and approvals with the Audit & Finance Committee and work with the Controlling Leadership Team to identify the most critical topics, and develop content and authorization as needed. Coordinate key activities and manage actual vs. planned spending with third-party contractors (e.g., external auditors, contract employees, etc.)

Engagement & Communication:

Develop engagement and communication calendar and content development (e.g., All Hands, emails, postcards, Workvivo, etc.)

You'll harness NIKE, Inc.'s annual strategic planning process to drive growth and prioritization while generating partner alignment. Showing up as a transformational leader, you'll drive critical business issues and opportunities. You will also work closely with the Record to Report Global Process Owner and Finance Transformation Team to support transformation and optimization across the function.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will report to and be the strategic business partner to the VP, Corporate Controller, and sit on the Controlling Executive Leadership Team. You'll also support the Controller's leadership team and work closely with your HRBP as well as other Finance teams (such as Global Business Planning, Finance Transformation, Strategy, Global Risk Management, Geo Finance, Investor Relations, etc.).

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related subject area, or relevant combination of education, skills, and experiences.
  • 10+ years of confirmed experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, corporate development, business development, investment banking or a related field.
  • CPA preferred but not required.
  • Proven prior work experience in public accounting, controlling, finance, investment banking, private equity, or a related field.
  • Experience in leading sophisticated strategic projects and proven success in leading a methodical process of analyzing problems, gathering information, generating options, and then proposing and acting on a course of action.
  • Proficiency in business communication tools and verbal/written communication to promote conceptual understanding and mobilize change through storytelling.
  • Ability to lead, develop, and run effective teams.
  • Strong Excel modeling skills.
  • Experience supporting, influencing, and presenting to senior executive leaders to catalyze change
