WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Principal of Brand Concepts to help lead our enterprise through identifying, prioritizing and delivering Brand Concepts. Brand Concepts are our most important product-led initiatives and play a critical role in inspiring and innovating for athletes in Nike-only ways. This individual contributor will play a pivotal role, which includes partnering 3+ years out with our advanced innovation teams to generate and identify potential Brand Concepts as well as leading cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of Brand Concepts in the marketplace.

An entrepreneurial, problem-solving mentality, an ability to manage through ambiguity and a positive, team-focused attitude, are all critical to this role. Additionally, a strong candidate should have expertise in leading complex, consumer-focused, enterprise-level projects that require multiple points of coordination and cross-functional collaboration.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

A typical day in this role will be quite diverse, from building strategies to reviewing product innovation to leading large cross-functional alignment sessions to chasing individual action items. Obsessing and serving athletes
will be at the heart of everything you do. This unique role will often need to operate independently with minimal direction and be able to both roll up their sleeves and get in the details, while also being able to think strategically and partner with senior leaders .

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

This project leadership role joins a small team that works across Nike to have a large influence and impact. You will report to the VP of Brand Concepts and Olympics and work closely with the Senior Director, Brand Concepts & Olympics as well as an extended cross-functional leadership team. In this role, you will be working across multiple Consumer and Sport-focused teams and partner closely with a number of Global functions including GMs, Innovation, Design, Product, Merchandising, Brand, Planning, Operations, and Marketplace. This role will connect dots and drive clarity to ensure effectiveness, efficiency, and ultimately Brand Concepts success .

WHAT YOU BRING

  • a Bachelor's degree in a related field (with advanced degree and/or experiences a plus), or equivalent combination of education, experience and training
  • 7+ years of diverse experience across a number of functions (Strategy, Innovation, Product Management, Merchandising, Brand Management, Operations, etc)
  • An ability to travel 10% of the time, as needed.
  • Proven experience demonstrated in cross-functional project delivery from strategy through execution.
  • Strong proficiency in business communication and verbal/written communication to promote conceptual understanding and mobilize through storytelling. Strong experience in telling stories with decks.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior leaders and build consensus across diverse cross-functional, cross-consumer teams. Proven ability to influence successful outcomes.
  • Entrepreneurial ability to operate independently, managing multiple priorities.
  • Athlete-centric experience, ideally across multiple consumer teams and fields of play
  • A team-first, enthusiastic, positive attitude. Able to maintain grace, a sense of humor, and perspective under pressure. This role will be working with and influencing at all levels.
  • Experience working successfully in a highly matrix work environment .
