Join a global, innovative, and influential team of solution architects reporting to the Senior Director of Architecture for Marketplace Delivery, Geographies & Converse. Collaborating across time zones, you will work closely with global domain and product teams, as well as geographic technology partners. Our team focuses on technology modernization, compliance, and ensuring that global initiatives and programs are seamlessly integrated to meet marketplace needs.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Principal Solution Architect to simplify the technology landscape across the geographies. This remote-eligible role, with a preference for being based at the corporate headquarters, will require collaboration across multiple time zones. As the Principal Solution Architect, the candidate will work closely with global teams to understand their product strategies and create effective roadmaps to streamline technology within their geography. A key goal is to influence both business and technology sectors towards simplification. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent cross-organizational communication, and facilitation skills to drive collective architecture strategy and direction.

To excel in this role, the candidate must be a self-starter, goal-oriented, and a team player. They should have a consistent track record of driving technology change and transformation in complex, high-visibility, and high-impact matrix environments. Technical proficiency, the ability to understand and synthesize large amounts of information into strategic and executable roadmaps, strong communication, and listening skills are key. The candidate must be capable of navigating and influencing diverse opinions while maintaining clear and timely communication of technical decisions and issues. Proficiency in solution design, providing solution options and recommendations, and managing technical risks and gaps are essential. Flexibility in managing schedules and collaboration across various time zones is also critical.
- At least 8+ years in technology roles with a minimum of 3 years in architecture and managing technology programs.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or equivalent amount of relative experience and education required.
- 7+ years of professional experience with cloud technologies (preferably AWS, or other major cloud providers), and proficiency in architecture methodologies such as TOGAF, including the ability to create relevant artifacts.
- Ability to understand and synthesize vast amounts of information into strategic and executable roadmaps, including providing solution designs, options, and recommendations.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, with capability to influence diverse stakeholders and navigate through differing opinions while maintaining clear communication of technical decisions and issues.
- Self-management and flexibility in working hours to accommodate various time zones, with experience in steering teams through major technology transitions or transformations.
WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON
This role is instrumental in paving the runway for faster and more agile operations across the geography. The Principal Solution Architect will work in a complex, cross-functional environment, driving technological simplification and influencing the outcome of global product and platforms to meet the local needs.
- Drive Technology Simplification: Lead efforts to streamline the technology landscape within the geography, transitioning from local to global solutions, and aligning with overarching strategies.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely global domain architects, product owners, engineers, the Senior Director of technology for the geography, as-well-as technical leaders within the geography to integrate and influence global initiatives.
- End-to-End Solution Design: Oversee the technology footprint, providing robust solution designs, options, and recommendations that align with both local and global requirements.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, ensuring transparency regarding technical decisions, risks, and progress.
- Strategic Road mapping: Develop and drive technology roadmaps that facilitate the simplification and modernization of the geography's technology ecosystems, ensuring alignment with global strategies.
- Relationship Building: Act as a self-starter to build and leverage a network of relationships across various teams, ensuring effective collaboration and driving consensus in decision-making.
- Manage Complexities: Navigate the inherent challenges of working across multiple time zones and without direct control over engineering teams, relying on storytelling and strategic influence to drive projects forward.
