Manager, Assortment Planning NA Stores (Hiring for 4 Roles)
Required to be located or ability to relocate to Portland, OR
We're looking for an Assortment Planning Manager to lead a North America Stores planning team that owns end to end bottoms up merchandise plans partnering with Merchandising/Buying teams, Consumer teams, Store Concept teams, and our Store Allocation teams. This candidate needs to have strong communication, problem-solving and analytical skills. Proven industry planning experience is required, prior team leadership experience is preferred. We're looking for a people leader who is comfortable with ambiguity, having courageous conversations and navigating a dynamic cross-functional environment.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
As an Assortment Planning Manager, you will be responsible for onboarding, training and providing regular collaborative feedback for your direct reports. You will also be involved in strategic projects and business process improvements, championing efficient and consistent ways of working. You will be responsible for providing leadership communication relevant to your teams areas of business, summarizing key findings and recommendations. You will also help identify meaningful opportunities for growth within the product assortment and collaborate with cross functional peers to drive actions within your team to bring those opportunities to life. You will foster collaboration among teams to ensure consistency of information, share standard methodologies, and drive new system implementation and adoption. You will work with your team to elevate key themes and stories and present them in a succinct manner to drive your business forward. You will partner with key stakeholders across Geo and Global to optimize business health throughout the entirety of the product life cycle. You will recap and analyze the business against forecast weekly and forecast in-season sales and inventories on a monthly basis.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will report to the Director of North America Assortment Planning and play an integral role in the overall North America Stores Offense. You will collaborate with many cross functional partners including Merchandising/Buying, Allocation, Nike Direct Consumer teams, Merchandise Financial Planning (MFP), Store Concept teams, Store location & Space Planning teams, Analytics & Finance.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Minimum 5+ years work experience in Retail Merchandise/Assortment planning, buying, inventory management, and/or financial planning
- People & team management experience preferred
- Strong command of Retail metrics including Retail Sales, ST%, WOS, Inventory (Store OH, DC Avail, On Order), Revenue and Margin with the ability to manipulate data for efficient outcome
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including meeting facilitation and presentation to senior leaders
- Ability to resolve conflict and manage multiple priorities
- Demonstrated experience influencing people and teams
- Ability to build strong working relationships with teammates and cross functional partners
- High level of proficiency of MS office, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Detail oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in a vertical or wholesale apparel, footwear or equipment organization is preferred
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, experience
or training
