WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Lead, Writer who will work within the Global Brand Voice team on @Nike flagship social. This role works closely with internal and external creative partners to deliver holistic narrative, writing, and messaging on behalf of the Brand. Their work dimensionalizes the brand's voice across a number of consumer and internal touchpoints and they are experts in the craft of the written word and its ability to shape creative ideas. They drive narrative excellence and collaboration across multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that all work is executed against the strategy.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As the Lead, Writer on the Brand Voice team you will deliver best-in-class writing, with deliverables that include headline and caption copy for @nike social channels and other consumer facing creative work. You will develop the voice of the Nike brand on social media, inclusive of concepts, captions, and reactive efforts. The Lead, Writer will collaborate with internal partners across creative and brand marketing to help craft brand and seasonal strategy and product positioning. This collaboration will also include critically evaluating the creative process and consistently working to improve it. In this role you will also review project work for highest standards of quality, consistency, and accuracy to ensure all projects are well-planned, creatively exceptional, and delivered on-time. Finally, as a key member of the brand voice team you will inspire and motivate your teammates around you, working in a hands-on and highly collaborative manner to produce fresh, distinctive, effective writing.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will partner with your Brand Voice teammates (across creative and Operations/Production) as well as the larger creative team across our Global, geography, and City studios, colleagues across the Brand Marketing team, key business functions like Legal, Business Affairs, and Finance, and external agency partners.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 5+ years copy writing in an agency, or in a branded content, editorial or marketing environment.


  • A passion for the Athlete, Sport and Culture.


  • Stellar portfolio of campaign writing across various mediums and platforms, displaying a distinctive voice, expert command of style and tone, and impeccable level of craft.


  • Keen understanding of writing within a brand organization, and how to translate business priorities into highly engaging consumer-facing content.


  • Excellent verbal and visual communication skills.


  • Natural ability to work collaboratively with creative and marketing partners, with strong interpersonal skills and an inclusive and positive approach.


  • Proven experience in commissioning and managing all aspects of the writing process, managing external relationships with tact and efficiency.


  • Strong time management and organization skills, with the ability to keep multiple projects moving forward simultaneously.


  • Entrepreneurial spirit with proactive approach to identifying and acting on ways to improve the work.


  • Can-do attitude with proven ability to flex and adapt to changing business needs while maintaining strategic clarity and creative brilliance.


  • A sense of humor and a positive spirit.
