WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

The candidate needs to have strong technical expertise, exceptional communication skills, problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of business needs, and a focus on quality standards, all while being able to effectively navigate complex technical challenges and guide their team towards successful project delivery. They must be able to handle multiple projects, and various competing priorities. Ideally, the candidate has worked in a scaled agile environment for planning and managing work in bi-weekly sprints and quarterly PIs. They will work with our business partners and product managers to understand the business requirements. They will design, code/ configure, test, debug, and installing the solutions ensuring they meet the requirements and specifications, as well as complies with Nike architectural standards. The person in this role has had experience in guiding others on a highly proficient team in ensuring others understand the business requirements and design and provides leadership to deliver their vision for the work. They enjoy learning new skills and technologies. Key technical skills for this role are experience with Windows operating environment, using and managing VMs in a cloud environment, Networking, SQL Server administration, database development, KAFKA and/ or streaming integration platforms, and creating and maintaining SOAP and REST APIs. Exposure to smart scanners, or similar hardware components that integrate into a networked system, sensors such as RFID or NFC chips as well robotics applications preferred.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Bachelors Degree and minimum of 6 years directly relevant work experience; or additional 2 years relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 6+ years experience developing software applications for Windows using two or more years programming languages such as Visual Basic, VB.NET, ASP.NET, Crystal Reports.
  • 6+ years experience with database stored procedures with a minimum of 3 years using SQL Server and T-SQL.
  • 3+ years experience with Azure (or similar cloud platform), GitHub & Devops (CI/CD)
  • 3+ years' experience with Serverless technologies and architecture
  • Prior experience with MRP or manufacturing floor systems, sensors or robotics software preferred

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON

As a lead software engineer on our Factory Floor System team, you will be collaborating closely with other lead engineer FTEs on the team, as well as contractors who assist with supporting the product. You will be working in a hierarchically structured environment and communicating up to several levels of leadership. You will also work across teams with other functional development groups, architects, as well as both directly with internal and external users and key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

  • Reviewing resource workload
  • Participate in annual budget for work and resources
  • Operate with a team that has an on-shore/ off-shore component
  • Manage JIRA boards for defined bodies of work
  • Contribute in large cross tech project meetings to discern impact to the team, and understand complete business requirements
  • Be aware of production issues whether that is impacting one factory or all
  • Confirm all code has been thoroughly reviewed, tested, and implemented successfully and timely
  • Report on and escalate as required to leadership on project/program deliverables and timelines
