WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for a Global Purchasing Lead responsible for the oversight of our Global Purchasing Operations both on and off shore. This candidate will need to bring a stong ability to lead cross functional and multi cultural relationships while ensuring smooth and successful daily operations for all purchasing activities across the globe. This candidate is expected to bring their extensive experience and passion for Purchasing and Operations. This experience will support Nike to identify and manage financial risk and compliance requirements while defining process optimization opportunities globally.

A successful candidate needs to be team oriented, curious, lead with integrity, and bring a positive mentality. Additionally they should be able to storytell through data, understand how to problem solve, and communicate effectively. In this sense, a proven track record of strong Purchasing expertise, building consensus, managing complex stakeholder landscapes, and an ability to create positive and collaborative energy will be required for building and maintaining trust with our stakeholders, as we execute our long term Purchasing strategy.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

If this is you, you'll be working along side the Global Purchasing team to provide oversight of all Purchasing activities nmed by our Managed Services Provider, Accenture. You will be providing enhanced business support for Global P2P (Purchase to Pay) operations and our many cross functional partners. You will collaborate with your Accenture Team's Global & Geo Leads on multiple service delivery activities including, problem resolution, governance & operations, analytics, KPIs, and service delivery driven through our dashboard metrics. Additionally you will be responsible for elevating process improvement to our Global Process Owner, developing and maintaining strong relationship, and championing our Global P2P Policies and Procedures.

A typical week looks like daily meetings with our offshore teams to support, manage performance, provide guidance, and ensure alignment on process. This engagement is what drives the success of our operations and is critical to this role. Weekly cross function connection points with your key stakeholders to drive awareness and resolution while maintaining strong working relationships. You are responsible for delivering a globally standard and scalable Purchasing Operations function while ensuring that our Managed Service Provider upholds excellent customer service. In additional to your daily activities you will be an integral part of elevating Centralized Purchasing across the enterprise as well as engaging in a multi-year transformation driven by our Strategic Enterprise Capability.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

Global Purchasing Operations is a diverse, inclusive, and hardworking team. In your role on this team you will report directly to the Global Purchasing Sr. Manager. This role could be required to manage offshore team members.

Daily, you will work with cross function teams in:

  • Global Procurement including Vendor Master Data Team and Global Legal Department
  • Global P2P including, Global Invoice to Pay and Global Business Support
  • Global Controlling functions including accounting
  • All business users who need to make a purchase at Nike, globally

In addition to that you will be working closely with the Geo Leads to find geo synergies.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 6 years directly relevant work experience Note: One of the following alternatives may be accepted: PhD or Law + 3 yrs; Masters + 4 yrs; Associates degree + 6 yrs; High School + 7 yrs
  • At least 2 years of experience with specific Procurement processes, Operations, and features of the software systems we use at Nike including Coupa and SAP
  • Strong interpersonal skills in order to deal effectively with varied internal clients, management groups and external vendors
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-directed and comfortable working in ambiguous environments
  • Experience in highly cross-functional global business environment with the ability to effectively communicate at various levels
  • Proven cultural acuity and ability to work across large, diverse teams
