Lead Designer - Nike Inc. - Beaverton, OR. Create and manage own seasonal and annual project load within the overall color design workload of the team direct and manage color process for product group or group of categories; create and bring to life the corporate color direction across the group on a seasonal basis; drive color collections and flow plans; drive clear group strategies in the areas of color, materials, and graphics, print and pattern; develop action plans and processes, in coordination with management team, for integrating activities and optimizing department resources to meet major goals and objectives; participate in business planning, budgeting, and policy development; participate in functional discussions and initiatives across departments; develop internal and/or external partnerships that leverage resources and improve business unit responsiveness; execute color designs; work on category and/or cross category programs; create color calendar/timelines/ deadlines for group, including product design critical dates; remain aware of critical dates as it relates to color integration across products; lead trend and inspiration research and presentations for group; translate corporate color committee, macro- and color trends to divisional specific level as it relates to color, finish, and materials; gather color, materials, design, and lifestyle and sport trends seasonally; develop and direct seasonal color strategy for products, line segments and initiatives; display in-depth understanding of consumer, athlete, brand- positioning needs as it relates to group; use knowledge of consumers and their cultures to improve product performance & appearance; demonstrate strong knowledge about competitor products, consumer retail habits, color, and market trends; apply insights from consumer and athlete perspective into color solutions; present and communicate color design direction and results to a variety of audiences; present projects at all stages; drive color merchandising strategies and stories seasonally; work with Color Design Director and Design Leadership team to produce presentation materials that effectively communicates design direction related to consumer and athlete product concepts and creative strategy to internal, athletes and key partners and audiences, i.e. internal design reviews, global and geo adoptions and other decision making gates; build and evolve management skills; develop color excellence for division through a clear understanding of color, trend, processes and the consumer; and athletes; evolve divisional "brand character as it relates to color, materials and finishes; create and drive the overall color strategy for apparel and other product types; facilitate and deliver bi-annual divisional color needs for incorporation into corporate color committee; share category/divisional color direction as appropriate with apparel, footwear, accessories and brand to facilitate cross- divisional integration; stay abreast of industry and technology developments within the design profession; shares methods with design organization; and serve on color design selection team as needed with portfolio review, interviewing, recommending.
