We are looking for two Lead Buyers to be part of our Nike Value Stores Merchandising Team, one supporting Mens and one supporting Womens! You will be responsible for leading across Lifestyle Fields of Play within the Asia Pacific and Latin Americas (APLA) Geography. A successful Lead Buyer will thrive and contribute to an inclusive, positive, and progressive team dynamic, as well as manage and lead in a way that elevates the total team. A strong Lead Merchant will be an advocate and mentor to their peers. The role requires the ability to partner, communicate, and influence key cross-functional partners (Nike Stores Merch & LT, Geo Consumer Merch, Consumer and Assortment Planning, Visual Merchandising, Brand Marketing) to bring to life the end in mind vision of the assortment to best serve our Nike consumers. Strong business insight, the ability to manage and drive multiple seasons, and a deep understanding of trend, consumer, and marketplace will be critical to this role.

We are looking for consumerists with an affinity for product that enjoys the energy of moving at the pace of retail and the consumer. A successful Lead Buyer will thrive and contribute to a positive and progressive team dynamic, as well as lead in a way that elevates the total team.

This role is responsible for adapting & curating consumer right assortments with end in mind for the Nike Value Store business by using historical data, analytics and real-time market feedback to advise the future (coming seasons) while winning today (in-season read & react/selling & serving)!

The candidate should possess proven retail competence and analytical abilities, have an understanding of retail environments, and bring a consumerist perspective to the team and business. They are comfortable mentoring the daily work of individual contributors within a structured coaching framework.

What you will work on

You will own bringing the seasonal assortment to life in Stores. You will understand related aspects of the business and marketplace in making your plans, including coordinating between genders, Fields of Play and how individual products or collections impact each other. You will collaborate cross functionally to ensure assortment plans meet consumer demand and strategies execute.

You will hone consumer-centric assortment plans across multiple seasons with an understanding of Nike Value Store's position in the market & competitive landscape to blend fact-based and intuitive inputs. You will participate in seasonal buy reviews and in-season trading to influence actions to optimize growth with your critical partners.

Who you will work with

We work closely with fellow merchants, buyers and cross-functional teams within Nike Market Place; in particular 3PP and Stores Buying, Consumer Merchandising, Planning, Allocation, Visual Merchandising and Brand Marketing. We also work with operations and the insights/analytics teams; relying on business reporting which includes quantitative and qualitative metrics on sales, inventory and consumer behaviors.

You will report to the Women's/Men's Senior Manager NVS Merchandising of your team.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education, experience and training
  • 5 years demonstrated experience in footwear or apparel buying and/or merchandising, product creation and/or retail in a vertical, multi-brand or digital environment
  • Strong affinity for current market trends and how Nike Lifestyle can continue to be a style leader in the marketplace
  • Footwear, Apparel, Equipment or relevant consumer product buying and/or merchandising experience
  • Understanding of common retail and/or digital profit-based metrics such as sell-through, turn, ASP, UPT and others
  • Ability to contribute to and drive strategy into action
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
