WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

This role is part of DSM team who plans and optimizes Demand, Supply and Inventory to serve consumers, and drive sustainable, profitable growth for Nike. This role is part of a bigger Nike Digital in-season team, with responsibility to develop plans for the SNKRS platform, and reports into the Men's Nike Digital AP Director. The Assortment Planner will work with various teams, including SNKRS / NBHD leadership team, Merchandising, Nike Direct Digital planning, Merchandise Financial Planning (MFP), Finance, Nike Digital Platform & Launch Operations team.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a candidate who has experience in:

  • Planning: Experience in assortment planning with the ability to apply that knowledge independently in their work. Basic understanding of financial, product, and supply planning. Able to collaborate efficiently with upstream & downstream functions. Aware of emerging trends in planning.
  • Volatility & Risk management: Escalates risks or opportunities that are grounded in facts and presents options for resolution. Manage Launch date volatility & Assess risk within business objectives.
  • Insights: Demonstrates strong problem solving & thinking skills by developing accurate plans that optimize trade-offs & outcomes. Thinks beyond prescribed solution & demonstrates industry & market trends to improve business outcomes. Understands SNKRS retail metrics & business drivers.
  • Consumer focus: Understand consumer needs & marketplace from available data and can link plans with market trends. Awareness of product portfolio and strategy, including expectations around consumer response, growth opportunities and product lifecycle
  • Influence: Designs compelling communications that articulate the story and insights with a clear summary of the main ideas. Listens actively & makes insightful contributions.
  • Collaboration: Partner with multiple stakeholders to ensure we land consumer right decisions and actions.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

Responsibilities of the Assortment Planner:

  • Deliver monthly in-season forecast & lead long range plans for SNKRS & Launch line of business based on demand trend, analytics and business strategy.
  • Develop SNKRS seasonal assortment plan inclusive of retail sales value, inventory, productivity & demand served at top down (framework) and bottom-up (style-color) levels with consistent business logic & analytics, which will be presented in front of senior stakeholders (Senior Director SNKRS, Senior Director Merch, Senior Director Planning).
  • Analyze business against plan and forecasted in-season sales and inventories on a monthly or weekly basis.
  • Assess business risk / opportunity & develop action plans and escalate where needed.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 2+ experience in Consumer and/or Retail Merchandising/ Planning will be crucial. E-commerce or digital retail experience and knowledge is welcomed.
  • Understanding of Digital ecosystem and knowledge about Energy consumer, product & market dynamics.
  • With a consistent track record, you will have strong knowledge around consumer demand, retail (drivers) math's, financial planning optimizing margins, inventory planning skills and reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to engage effectively with a broad range of audiences including senior business leaders, other senior planning leaders, and highly technical talents.
  • Commercial & entrepreneurial mindset and skillset with the ability to negotiate and trade pre and in-season.
  • A self-starter mentality and be eager to drive and own end to end communication with results driven, forward thinking and proficient information seeking skills in a fast-paced environment.
