WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for Footwear Product Engineers passionate about athletic footwear that hits the highest performance and sustainability manufacturing standards. A successful candidate will be able to perform in a fast-paced matrixed organization and within the product creation team. The ideal candidate is an engineer motivated to continually grow and learn with an innovative mentality. We are looking for a teammate who is a proficient multi-tasker and who can work on multiple products simultaneously.

This posting is for 5 positions within the Nike Global Footwear function supporting Women's Footwear (FW), FW Product Engineering and 2 roles are in the Bowerman Footwear Lab (BFL).

For the Bowerman Footwear Lab (BFL), we are a large team that serves both Nike footwear and innovation to create and explore footwear projects. Footwear projects could be a whole shoe, specific components, or fixtures in support of testing or method of make. As a Design Engineer II on the BFL - Digital Design & Engineering team, you will be supporting this exciting work. We are a fast-paced and growing team, supporting some of Nike's critical business platforms across all Fields of Play (both lifestyle and performance). We are looking for individuals to join our team who have an engineering mind-set, are self-starters, quick learners, clear communicators, and great teammates. For Footwear Product Engineering, you will be focusing on product excellence standard processes that ultimately drive and support quality, craftsmanship and efficiency. You will enable product deliverables that are crafted, manufactured, cost effective and meet performance and quality expectations of the consumer. We are seeking a Product Engineer to provide technical expertise to the Dimension and Innovation teams making early recommendations on product construction techniques and tooling solutions. You will collaborate with design, marketing, innovation & product creation teams to provide directions for material choices, design and construction alleviating potential manufacturing or costing concerns.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As a Footwear Product Engineer you will be a key member of the Product Creation team responsible for understanding the product brief and delivering to the athlete's needs. You will focus on delivering projects and meeting performance, design, cost and sustainability targets. You will own the project management of key footwear products and components within the Footwear product creation and manufacturing teams. You will apply and promote Nike Engineering standard methodologies while providing critical feedback on projects to ensure product quality, consistency, and manufacturability at scale.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will work in close collaboration with Product Developers, Product Designers, manufacturing teams, external vendors partners, Nike PCC (Product Creation Center) and factories based in Asia to test and validate concepts. You will need strong interpersonal skills and program management skills to share project details and status with all partners as this role acts as the project manager leading communication and presentation of project status.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field or minimum 2 years direct experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 2 years Consumer Product and/or hardgoods manufacturing experience.
  • Advanced understanding and skills in pattern engineering, tooling, manufacturing, and test methodologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, sketches and/or 3D digital files.
  • Proficient with MS Office, 2D/3D CAD/CAM
  • Capable of working hands-on with manufacturing machines.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
