Who we are looking for

We are looking for a Styling Expert to join our Concept Design team in Nike Global Design. Concept Design is the leading edge of defining the future of Nike, bridging the worlds of emerging innovation, athlete insights, product design, and brand storytelling to develop the ideas that will define the brand. Part of Concept Design, the Styling function sits at the heart of this process, delivering the strategy, visual identity, end-in-mind vision for Nike's concepts to reach athlete around the globe. Along with the Styling Director, the Styling Expert helps to define the head-to-toe vision for how Nike's products become a distinct head-to-toe look for Nike. Candidates for this role must be collaborative, imaginative, and tactical, as they will turn creative strategy and big ideas into visual art direction and storytelling to influence the Nike organization!

Styling Experts are as excellent in their craft as they are collaborative teammates, focused on both crafting styling direction and the materials and experiences to bring it to life for presentations, physical spaces, and photoshoots. They are multifaceted creatives and have experience in building and communicating styling strategy, as well as illustrating that strategy on-set, in retail environments, or at events. They have a passion for fashion and are committed to staying on top of current and future trends in design, creative culture, youth culture and fashion.

As a candidate for this role, you have a passion for creative projects, a collaborative energy, and the ability to assimilate a range of cultural, athlete, and business insights into creative strategy, brand identity, and world-building that activate the Nike organization around your idea. You are truly a multi-faceted stylist who loves both bold thinking and crafting compelling materials and experiences that bring that thinking to life.

What you will work on

As a Styling Expert, you will collaborate on and implement the vision for how Nike products come to life for athletes around the world. You'll work directly with the Creative Concept team, product design leaders, consumer insights and brand business leaders to find opportunities, build direction, and illustrate how that styling direction can complete at Nike's various touch points, influencing brand campaigns, retail experience, and Nike's digital channels.

A given day can consist of big brainstorms, photoshoots, inspiration travel, gathering athlete insights, connecting with your team, or pitching your work to Nike leadership. Along with the Styling Director, you will work directly with the Women's Creative Concept team in building the styling perspective for Nike's biggest ideas.

Who you will work with

The Styling Expert reports to the Styling Director, Women's. In the day-to-day the Styling Expert collaborates with your Concept Design counterparts, Women's product design, Product Merchandising, Brand Design, and Brand Marketing counterparts.

What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Design or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 6 years professional experience in design, within product or marketing, brand or agency.
  • A passion for the Athlete, Sport and Culture.
  • Expertise in all aspects of commercial styling.
  • Solid portfolio of relevant work, displaying a passion for creative exploration, from the avant-garde to everyday functional styling.
  • Strong verbal and visual communication skills; experience in presenting and defending creative work.
  • Ability to collaborate with and effectively manage external creative partners.
  • A positive mentality with proven ability to flex and adapt to changing business needs while maintaining creative quality.
  • Laser-sharp focus to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal resourcefulness with the ability to cultivate team partnerships and an open, positive and collaborative environment.
  • Highly developed curiosity and in-depth understanding of design culture and youth culture, current and past.
