WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As our Expert Footwear Designer in Nike Global Football (Soccer), you will create industry-leading innovative Football footwear design from concept to reality.
We are looking for a Design Expert who can help take Nike to the future. Someone who has the technical expertise to deliver experiences that inspire athletes and exceed their expectations.
We are looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic team and who also supports and elevates others. The ideal candidate would often seek inputs and feedback from teammates to stress test concepts and designs to make them even stronger.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
As a Expert Footwear Designer, you will work on footwear designs that push the possibilities of the human potential and drive athlete performance to the future.
We expect you to explore new opportunities, take risks, and change the game! Through athlete and consumer insight build firm foundations to problem solving around the needs of the athlete. New innovation in manufacturing, and craft will help enable creative and high desire solutions people will love and remember for decades.
With each project, you shall participate and present your work in informal and formal reviews. In addition to individual project work, you will also collaborate and help build the design direction with the Senior Design Director.
As a top-tier designer with deep knowledge and experience in footwear, you will be seen as a team leader and mentor for other designers within Nike.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
As an Expert Designer in Global Football, you will be working hand in hand with a dynamic cross functional team.
In your day to day, you will engage with cross functional partners within Color Design, Material Design, Graphic Design, 3D Design, Product Marketing, Development, Brand Marketing, Merchendising, Testing, Innovation, Researchers, Scientists, Costing. You will be expected to autonomously and successfully lead your projects to completion.
You will work under the Creative Direction of our Senior Design Director, and shall also be reviewed by directors from other functions.
WHAT YOU BRING
Design Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Industrial Design or related field or equivalent combination of education or experience
- 8+ years experience designing innovative footwear and other products.
- Experience in technical footwear design - Football product design is a plus
- Deep knowledge of form, color, materials, human factors, related to elevating the consumer experience
- Ability to translate consumer knowledge and insights into product solutions and narratives
- Strong Photoshop, Illustrator skills
- Must be able to build high quality / accurate 2D technical drawings (tech packs)
- Cobbling and prototyping skills are a plus
- 3D design program experience are a plus
- Strong sketching, illustration, and rendering skills
- Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
- Must be able to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each project with speed and that deliver impact
- Knowledge and experience with sustainable design and manufacturing are a plus
