WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a passionate footwear designer who is highly creative, has a strong aesthetic, is a problem solver, has a deep knowledge of Performance and Lifestyle footwear, and is fluent in 3D and AI digital tools. This team collaborates with a wide range of Nike teams so a positive outlook and strong relationships are essential.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

You'll work on a wide range of footwear projects covering all categories of performance, lifestyle and innovation, this will also span "high-volume" projects to "one-off" inspirational concepts.

You will lead projects from sketch ideation, concept visualization, presentation through to tech pack and revisions. You will also be working directly with our internal and external partners to test, evaluate and recommend new digital design tools.

You will also need to mentor other designers across Nike on our new and innovative process.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You'll be working with a fast moving multidisciplinary team of experienced Footwear designers, Computational designers, and Innovation designers. focused on industry-leading innovative footwear. This team reports directly to the VP of Footwear Design Excellence.

WHAT YOU BRING

Design Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Industrial Design or related field
  • 8 yrs experience designing and developing innovative footwear and other products
  • Knowledge of form, color, materials, human factors, related to elevating the consumer experience
  • Ability to translate consumer knowledge and insights into product solutions and narratives
  • Strong Photoshop, Illustrator skills
  • Strong sketching, illustration, visualization and rendering skills
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
  • Must be able to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each project
  • Knowledge and experience with sustainable design and manufacturing are a plus
  • Experienced with presentation programs: Keynote, Powerpoint, Acrobat, etc.
  • fluent in 3D tools like Blender, Gravity Sketch, Fusion 360 or Rhino
  • fluent in AI tools like Vizcom, Newarc, Blender, Runway or Sora fluent in "Basic tools" like Illustrator, Photoshop and Keynote
  • 3D printing and prototyping skills are a plus
