We are seeking a driven engineering leader to join our team. As the Director of Engineering of Marketing Assets Platform, you'll be responsible for leading media asset management and delivery of assets that power all of Nike's consumer experiences in marketplaces globally. You are a passionate leader who can deeply understand Nike marketing and brand vision, shape our roadmaps, evangelize technical direction, mentor the engineers, influence cross-functional technical teams, and deliver tangible business value at the speed of Nike. WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON

We are building solutions for the management and delivery of media assets at the scale of Nike's global athlete community. We rely upon Agile principles to devise cloud-based solutions to build a best-in-class digital asset management and delivery platform. You will be the global engineering leader of Asset Management Platform at Nike. You will work with geographically distributed engineering, product management, program management and SRE teams to deliver the consumer facing application and backend services. You'll be building asset storage, management including usage rights, digital transformations and automation using GenAI and asset publishing service. You will work very closely with Nike experience engineering teams to manage asset delivery services on the edge. As an engineering leader of this critical platform, you will own large product features from conception to operationalization, demonstrating technical and people leadership

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH

You will work with Nike Marketing and Brand teams in partnership with our product management leaders to shape the future of Nike's world class assets platform. You will build and grow a culture of engineering excellence in the organization while collaborating with product, design, program, experience engineering, and technical operations team to drive our success together as one team.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Influence and lead the strategy, organization and value delivery of Nike Marketing Assets Platform, in alignment with product roadmap and technology direction
  • Lead a highly performant technology organization, growing and developing competencies and skills of team members, with focus on developing future leaders and fostering innovation
  • Partner with senior leadership to establish and communicate a strategic vision for Marketing Technology and Content Platforms
  • Transform Nike strategies into plans and goals for the organization for the next 18 to 24 months and mobilize teams to deliver results on time and within budget
  • Plan and manage the organizational budget and vendor relationships, including contract usage, renewal, and other governance activities.
  • Manage the successful resolution of customer issues, including those involving competing demands, and conflicts within the organization.
  • Deeply understand business and technology stakeholders' requirements to influence product roadmaps, drive agile delivery and manage clear and consistent stakeholder communication
  • Partner with Product Management, program management, Design & Engineering leadership to establish and drive architecture and engineering excellence, integrating into product roadmaps.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 12+ years of technology experience in software development and management of full stack software solutions with hands-on software engineering experience
  • 6+ years of technology leadership experience, including experience leading engineering teams and initiatives, with deep expertise in agile development practices.
  • Deep understanding of software architecture, design and DevOps principles and experience building software features in a product model
  • Strong experience building, leading and retaining teams of diverse talents and creating a culture of innovation, accountability and a commitment to achieving results.
  • Proven experience acting as a change agent, influencing product strategy and roadmaps and delivering results
  • Expert at engineering performance management and career growth through mentoring, coaching and developing individual contributors and engineering managers
  • Proven experience managing timely cross-functional and executive communication, resolving conflicts and sensitive situations
  • Experience building scalable platforms using micro service architecture, domain driven design and RESTful Services using languages such as Java, Nodejs, and typescript.
  • Experience with modern UI frameworks (reactJs, nextjs etc), test frameworks, cloud services, preferrably AWS, Dev Ops techniques and tools
  • Experience building AI/ML and GenAI features as integral part of the platform
  • Ability to travel 10%.
  • Experience in Marketing technology, ecommerce, and retail is nice to have
