The role will report to the Sr. Director, APLA Marketplace Merchandising.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a Director to lead the APLA One Nike Marketplace Partners Merchandising business and team. You'll be a part of the Asia Pacific and Latin America geography, whose main goal is to represent and serve the consumers who inhabit six major markets in this region (Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia and India, Australia & New Zealand, Mexico, and Central and South America).

They blend art with science to bring Nike's vision to life in our Nike Marketplace Partners. The Merchandising team has the unrivaled ability to see beyond trends and identify new market opportunities, delivering the right product, at the right price, in the right place, at the right time.

In this role, you will define the Nike Marketplace Partners Merchandising strategy and lead the team to land the seasonal assortment framework. You will create a cross-functionally aligned and intentional seasonal product go-to-market strategy. You'll elevate our Partners offense to drive collective growth, profitability, and pull-market dynamics. The candidate should possess proven retail acumen and analytical abilities, understand end-in-mind, and bring a consumerist perspective to the team and business. We're looking for an individual with a desire to influence across teams and functions and work entrepreneurially to build a vision, set direction, and drive clarity for the organization.

  • Bachelor's degree or combination of relevant education, experience and training
  • At least 8 years' experience in merchandising, product creation, and/or retail, in a vertical or wholesale environment
  • Experience and understanding of apparel/footwear, retail, merchandising, and digital/ecommerce in global consumer marketplaces
  • Ability to translate insights and retail results into actionable strategies and plans
  • Strong Retail Acumen with proficiency in retail and profit-based metrics
  • Multi-season assortment planning and pricing experience
  • Marketplace awareness including retail, consumer, competitors, and products
  • Ability to lead diverse and cross-functional dotted-line teams, manage complex projects and balance multiple workstreams
  • Strong multicultural communication and influencing skills

What you will work on

You will work within the APLA One Nike Marketplace Merchandising team and Nike Marketplace Partners cross-functional team serving as a connector across DSM, Marketing, and MPU leaders in Geo and Territories. This role will set and implement the assortment framework for the APLA Nike Marketplace Partners to ensure the product strategy serves the comprehensive marketplace and delivers on the financial goals of the organization. You will participate in assortment building in partnership with consumer merchants, territory merchants, and cross-gender counterparts to ensure we are delivering the most compelling products, stories, and experiences.

You will balance multiple seasons and obsess the needs of the consumer. You'll stay curious about product and industry trends in APLA across Consumer Fields of Play informed by deep consumer insights ultimately informing the seasonal product assortment for the marketplace.
