WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

As part of the Global Communications team for Jordan Brand, you'll work closely with Enterprise Communications, Strategy, and Brand teams, as well as connect back with key partners on the Nike, Inc. Enterprise Communications team. This position reports to the Senior Director of Global Communications and Purpose for Jordan Brand, in Beaverton, Oregon.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The role of this leader is to foster effective teamwork and collaboration, build brand equity, and enhance corporate reputation by engaging a wide range of audiences that include consumers, media, athletes, investors, non-governmental organizations - and employees.

We're searching for a highly qualified Communications leader with a diverse skill set to join us at Jordan Brand Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon.

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, PR, English, Humanities, Sociology, Psychology, Communications, or related subject area
  • 10+ years of professional experience in high-profile corporate, agency, and/ or public relations roles supporting global brands with a strong preference for an emphasis on culture and sport
  • Previous experience in managing people and/or teams.
  • Proficient with narrative messaging and materials particularly adept at writing, flexible in various formats
  • Comfortable trying innovative approaches
  • Exhibiting strong professional agility and demonstrating a high interest for ongoing learning and development.
  • Experience in leading large, cross-functional groups through events/announcement activations.
  • Proficiency in all media platforms is required.
  • Demonstrated ability of being solutions oriented.
  • Background and experience working in the footwear and apparel industry are beneficial but not crucial.
  • Genuine interest and passion for using communications to build a strong employee culture.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

You will support enterprise communications for Jordan Brand, serving as a strategic and team lead. Cultivating collaboration across the team and fostering effective partnerships is a must. You will boldly prioritize and drive integrated strategies across the Enterprise, including Consumer + Marketplace, Purpose, Executive, and Employee communications.

You will have a global mentality, strong strategic instincts, exceptional relationship skills, and be able to handle ambiguity to work across the matrix to execute flawlessly. You value differences and have experience building communications strategies around purpose and community that complement brand moments.

You are experienced with new media platforms and integrate them into strategies, constantly testing and iterating. You are responsible for integrating communications plans with key partners and leaders to build trust and positive working relationships. Your connection to basketball culture and the Black Community is authentic, and part of how you experience the world as a global citizen.

You will lead in creating and driving integrated strategies and key responsibilities that include (about 20% travel):

  • Corporate Communications
    • Protect the Jordan Brand corporate reputation by handling issues discretely, creatively, and effectively while cultivating collaboration across relevant teams and functions.
    • Provide strategic guidance across the Jordan Brand Leadership Team and leverage executive voice strategically and responsibly both internally and externally.
    • Deploy creative problem-solving that drives innovative thinking, influences team culture, and supports cross-functional strategy.
    • Develop and evolve Jordan Brands growth narrative, as a key driver of growth for the enterprise.
  • Purpose Communications:
    • Integrate Purpose Communications across various Brand functions (including product, innovation, brand, SM, and EM) to drive storytelling both internally and externally.
      • This includes key moments/announcements tied to:
        • Jordan Brand's Black Community Commitment Initiative
        • Wings Initiative
        • Integrated moments that incorporate Purpose initiatives
  • Employee Communications
    • Cultivate the Jordan Family culture through Employee Communications strategies that celebrate our legacy, elevate our accomplishments, and bring to life our purpose.
