The Demand and Supply Management (DSM) serves as the Nike planning function combining insights and analytics to sense and craft how much product consumers will want, where and when they'll want it. This offense combines work in the Merchandise Financial Planning (MFP), Assortment Planning, Supply & Inventory management and Enterprise Business Planning sub functions to support a more seamless and flexible approach to serve consumers and drive inventory efficiency for NIKE and our partners.

WHO YOU WORK WITH

The role has 4 direct reports, but also will lead direct and indirect reports, a virtual team based in EMEA with dotted line. You will be working cross-functionally with the following teams:

  • NDDC GMs & Commercial team (platform, finance, marketing)
  • NDDC Merchandise Financial Planning (MFP)
  • Consumer Assortment Planning
  • NDDC Merchandising

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

A Director Assortment Planning Men's (AP) to join the NIKE DIRECT DIGITAL COMMERCE (NDDC) team!

As the Director Assortment Planning Men's NDDC, you will play an important role in defining, crafting, and setting consumer demand, while also having a sharp focus on Men's. You will utilize your subject matter expertise across various EMEA functional areas in Product, Merchandising, Consumer Insights and Planning to focus on the Consumer first as we plan for future Nike Product and Consumer needs. The below description outlines the ideal experience and background required for this role:

  • Digital Retail Planning: Extensive experience in digital retail assortment planning, and the ability to lead a team to deliver best in class digital assortment plans. Experience with digital commerce and retail KPIs are important for this role. You understand the importance and value of end-to-end planning. You are able to collaborate optimally with up- & downstream functions and are aware of emerging trends in planning.
  • Leadership: You have a passion for people and have shown leadership in talent development and coaching. You have strong collaboration and influencing skills to lead across the Nike Matrix and have exceptional stakeholder management skills.
  • Insights: generate hypothesis driven analysis and translates insights to actions. Develops team's problem solving and critical thinking skills by actively coaching, asking planner to explain rationale behind key decisions based on data-driven insights
  • Risk management: leverages data & analytics to inform risk insights; achieves stakeholder alignment on issues & risk mitigation action plans. Coaches planners for difficult conversations; provides safe forum for planners to raise concerns
  • Analytics: able to demonstrate knowledge of and actively seeks to incorporate buy-in of data science. Conducts comparative analysis with modeling, building & strategic thinking; applies innovative and comprehensive dimensions to the analysis that links to business strategy. Coaches planners to understand data science behind and value of forecast
  • Consumer focus: You can ground yourself quickly in consumer needs & the marketplace from available internal and external data and are able to link your plans to market trends. You have an awareness of Nike's product portfolio and strategy, including expectations around consumer response, growth opportunities and product lifecycle
  • Influence: structures high impact communications; synthesizes complex information and tailors communication to influence various audiences.

Essential Competencies

  • Influencing and collaboration. Able to collaborate effectively with upstream & downstream functions. Aware of emerging trends in planning
  • Communicates Vision and Purpose, clear storytelling by being able to digest, summarize large amount of input & prioritize key topics.
  • Balanced decision making through Nike Business Planning Expertise, inclusive of DSM, Finance, and Merchandising planning processes
  • Digital e-commerce & experience leading a team with a complex organisational change

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

In this role you will be driving and influencing the strategic growth of Men's end to end through the lens of distribution, ensuring plans meet Nike Direct objectives and fulfill the consumer needs in the marketplace and owns decisions/actions to optimize through in-season execution. Additionallu, you will develop commercial strategies to deliver and optimize in-season performance and overall market health through insights.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead the In-Season Planning team for NDDC in EMEA
  • Obsess the marketplace strategy for NDDC, ensuring Top Down/Bottoms Up Plans drive sustainable growth & meet strategic objectives
  • Accountable for in-season trade actions delivering on channel financial targets, within CFOP product intent guardrails
  • Ensure in-season performance is fed back up the pre-season Code as actionable insights for future breadth & depth decisions
  • Serve as primary partner to the NDDC x-functional teams to represent the singular view of CFOP Demand and influence the CFOP Assortment Plan and MFP with key marketplace insights
  • Manage and Lead in-season trading from DSM point of view and responsive business decisions to optimize NDDC Revenue, Margin, and Inventory, balancing with CFOP total MP health
  • Lead a virtual team of Consumer NDDC Assortment Planners and direct line to in-season AP planners
  • Drive in-season trade decisions and execution for promotions/ markdowns, inventory cut/chase and overall marketplace heath and business objectives
  • Join assortment conversations with CFOP team to drive right consumer demand plans
  • Cultivate an end-to-end process improvement mindset to adjust ways of working
  • Inform and Influence multi season Planning Rolling Forecast to optimize marketplace through NDDC strategy
  • Reconcile In-Season Assortment Plans with Planning Rolling Forecast and Align to Consumer Fields of Play
  • Oversee Men's end-to-end planning, both in-season and pre-season, being the first point of contact for the Men's business as integrator
