WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Design Director of Accessories. In this role you will be accountable for strategic oversight of design direction and initiatives to drive the future of Accessories Product design. You and your team will establish and champion the creative vision for Nike Accessories across bags, socks, headwear, equipment, leading with innovative key concepts and ensuring a cohesive vision across the entire consumer journey.

The ideal candidate must be an expert in accessory design, with a passion for excellence, a storyteller, innovator, and creative leader, tenacity to solve problems, and a passion to inspire and develop teams. This person will be focused on driving business critical initiatives and elevating Nike Accessories for a wide range of products and consumers, while driving an emotional connection through the use of narrative and storytelling.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

In this role you will establish the Accessories Product Direction and ensure cohesion across multiple collections, consumers, and fields of play. You will drive business critical design initiatives to elevate Nike Accessories, driving an emotional connection through the use of narrative and storytelling. You will create, hold, and maintain a standard of practice and design excellence, ensuring the highest standard of quality, consistency, accuracy while pushing the boundaries of creativity.

You will lead your team in delivering innovative & well-crafted designs through both physical and digital executions. You are an experienced people leader who builds opportunities for individual development, performance management, recognition and rewards. You will drive design excellence with key partners and ensure the team delivers integrated creative against the seasonal strategy through encouraging and leading innovative thinking, collaboration, and partnership.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

In this role you will report directly to the Senior Director of Accessories, and you will partner closely with your design, product management, global merchandising, and development counterparts in other areas of the business to ensure continuity and alignment across product lines. In addition, you will lead a team of multi-disciplinary designers, you will be working closely with the Women's, Men's and Kid's Leadership teams.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Design or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of Design experience
  • In depth experience in the Accessories field, with a focus on Bags, Headwear, Eyewear and beyond.
  • Enterprise leadership and experience leading creative teams and managing designers
  • Proven ability leading large diverse teams with a team first approach crafting a strong team culture and connectivity
  • Leads as a strategic creative partner to cross-category partners
  • Ability to think strategically about product relevance, product positioning, timing, and collections
  • Strong knowledge of fashion, design, and Lifestyle trends
  • Ability to create seasonal concepts, and provide the team with both short and long-term vision
