WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for an exceptional Designer II to bring their experience, craftsmanship, problem solving abilities, and above all, creativity, to create amazing Mens and Womens apparel on insanely fast timelines.

The ideal candidate needs to be highly creative with an exceptional eye for silhouette and cut, a solid understanding of lifestyle and performance fabrics and their appropriate applications.

You'll obsess the importance of details, and believe that the only best product design, that'll genuinely WOW consumers, earns a Swoosh.

The ideal candidate will be focused on elevating the art of apparel design by blending their expertise in digital tools, principally Clo3D, with craftsman level making and construction skills; using renderings and physical samples to persuasively communicate ideas and concepts at the highest level.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

Your goal is product excellence, alongside the Senior Designer, partnering closely with small cross functional teams, making quick decisions to drive Nikes vision of Apparel Excellence.

You will be working on a range of Mens and Womens designs, pushing the creative edges, sometimes reimagining our existing fabrics for refresh and collection models, sometimes starting from scratch, using the latest digital and physical tools to bring to life an exciting vision of Nikes future..

Your work encompasses concepting and ideating through the lens of the Nike consumer, creating apparel digitally, and physically, putting together tech packs and colorways, in close collaboration with Merchants, DPC and Tech Dev. You'll be working with manufacturing partners to ensure the continuity and fidelity of your vision and story through to the finished product.

Your focus on making Nike the market leader will drive innovation, not only through actual product, but in the way Nike creates product, to unleash bolder designs that truly disrupt the competition.

The daily responsibilities of this role are wide ranging, demanding, but rewarding and exciting !

As a Designer II in Apparel Excellence; Speed, you will have the opportunity to learn new skills, hone existing ones, explore new methods of make and push the boundries of Nike design.

You'll work with a broad range of different professionals, (engineers, researchers, scientists, marketing, product testing, sustainability, materials development, costing, etc.), and collaborate within the design community (NSRL, NXT, APCC, materials, color, graphics, computational, etc.), to bring to life energetic, creative ideas through Mens and Womens Speed apparel.

This role will report directly to the Senior Designer and Senior Manager for Speed Apparel Product.

WHAT YOU BRING

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree or higher in design; textile, fashion, industrial, furniture, interior, architecture, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience :

  • At least 2 + years of relevant design experience exemplifying ability to push material design, and/or proven experience in Apparel Design.
  • Passion for designing- beyond drawing, into fabrication, draping, construction and form
  • Ability to translate consumer knowledge/insights to narratives and product executions.
  • Ability to expertly create concepts using Clo, exploring silhouette, pattern making reinmagining existing materials and exploring new ones.
  • Fluency in pattern making and garment construction to create physical mock ups and complete garments, with consideration of every detail.
  • Experience building inspiration/concept presentations, and mood boards to storytell collection concepts and direction
  • Participates in the communication and presentation of design concepts to internal and external audiences
  • Collaborate and build interpersonal connections within Design and adjacent functions Ability to create and edit files using Adobe programs including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Ability in participating in multiple projects with competing resources and deadlines
