WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

This role will report to the Distribution Center (DC) Manager and involves close collaboration with business teams. Including Market Place Supply Chain team, Demand Supply Management team, Nike Direct Store team, Digital Consumer Services, Merchandising and, Finance team as well as third-party logistics (3PL) partners. You will lead large team of 3PLs and engage with most of NIKE's functions.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a warehouse lead at our Distribution Center who will be responsible for managing logistics services including DC operations and outbound transportation for Nike.com, Nike Direct Stores (NSO/NVS/NSP) , Nike Marketplace Partners at Nike's Logistics Center. This role will involve developing an operation and delivery plan with a full understanding of market demand and Nike's strategy to build an adequate capacity and service level for the short-term to long-term. You will also need to communicate and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to provide reliable and quality services at efficient costs by encouraging 3PL/Outbound carriers, our logistics partners. This role will be based at Distribution Center in Tomisato, Chiba but will also require visits to Nike Japan's Headquarter in Tokyo as needed.

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience or experience with transferrable skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, experience or training.
  • Preferred experience in leading a team of more than 5 people to manage Nike Japan's key Distribution center, which has over 400 employees.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in Japanese, including meeting facilitation and making presentations to align with team and stakeholders within a matrix organization.
  • Proficiency in English is preferred.
  • A self-motivated individual with a desire to contribute to Nike's business. Experience in Supply Chain, Distribution, or Transportation is not required.
  • Strong analytical skills for operational capacity planning and business processes re-engineering at a Distribution center.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

You will be responsible for operating Inbound Receiving Goods, Outbound Shipment for Multi-channel, Wholesalers, Nike Direct Stores and Digital, Outbound transportation for Non-Digital channels and Product Integrity / Quality Assurance. You will lead 3PL partners in executing end to end operations with optimized process and cost efficiency while maintaining high accuracy. Other responsibilities include:

  • Leading DC operation with 3PL team (DC operation and Transportation).
  • Developing operational plans on a weekly, monthly, yearly, and long term basis with the 3PL team and aligning with the business team.
  • Building capabilities and capacity for receiving, shipping, and transportation with the 3PL teams and aligning with business team.
  • Managing the budget according to business requirements.
  • Analyzing data to measure 3PL performance.
  • Collaborating with NIKE Global and APLA for the intake of new ideas, services, and business team requirements
