A Concept Engineer II works within the Nike CCC innovation space in collaboration with the NXT design, development, materials, and digital teams to create new innovative Nike product.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

A Concept Engineer II is someone with a passion for pattern engineering, creativity, and a drive for innovation.

We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, quick learner, clear communicator, and a team player.

A Concept Engineer II needs to have a strong knowledge of footwear engineering and project management. Starting from a design concept, they will engineer and build footwear samples using repeatable processes to create functional and refined products through the application of traditional, digital, and emerging technologies.

A Concept Engineer II performs project-level duties, including project management, material explorations and diagnosing / resolving moderately difficult problems through engineering and manufacturing knowledge.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engineering of design concepts and creating new footwear patterns.
  • Ensure the repeatability of the concept within Nike standards.
  • Aid in additional design revisions of new concepts.
  • Address moderately difficult engineering issues relating to patterns.
  • Partner with designers, developers, and factory partners to develop processes, technical drawings and BOM specifications.
  • Moderate ability for project information management.
  • Create testable samples in different sizes through footwear pattern grading.
  • Exchange information through digital files (.ai, .pdf, .dxf,)
  • Ability to work self-directed, but to follow specific directions when given.
  • Ability to give and receive creative input.
  • Ability to collaborate within small and large groups.

REQUIREMENTS: WORK EXPERIENCES & EDUCATION

  • Possess a clear understanding of product construction concepts including, Pattern Engineering, costing/quality implications, model making, part drawings, 2D drafting documentations, materials, design for manufacturing, sustainability awareness.
  • Proficient in 2D CAD patterning and design software. Preferably - Dimensions, Illustrator, Mind CAD 2D for footwear
  • Proficient in 3D CAD modeling software. Preferably - Rhino, Mind CAD 3D for footwear
  • Bachelor/Master's degree in industrial design or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years relevant work experience in Footwear engineering, development.
  • Nike product process experience preferred.

  • You will work on product from concept brief to commercialization and develop new manufacturing processes while ensuring product quality and Nike standards are met.
