We are looking for a WE Communications Specialist that can embody this spirit while working under leadership of the Communications Director to support internal, enterprise and employee communications, and upstream planning and communications team operations.

The Communications Specialist will support the the Director with the creation of compelling and strategic external communications plans as well as drive internal storytelling campaigns. Work will focus on the development and execution of a multi-channel internal communication strategy across the Western Europe Geography, as well as crafting internal stories that excite and empower teammates helping to position Converse as a forward-thinking company redefining how today's youth interacts with brands.

What you will work on

If this is you, you'll be working with a highly motivated team across Communications and other business functions, at both the Geography and Global level.

As WE Communications Specialist, you will partner with the WE Communications Dir, and key business stakeholders to support integrated communications programming across the WE Geography and its key territories. You will foster authentic connections with internal and external audiences across WE to advance the Converse narrative through clear, consistent, breakthrough brand, purpose and product storytelling.

A typical week might include organizing and managing assigned projects and events, participating in communications team idea generation or following up with Converse employees and partners to answer questions and supply information. It might include working with the WE Communications Director to provide assistance to all employee meetings, on-site at special events, photo shoots, interviews and press conferences.

As the WE Communications Specialist, you will research, write and edit press releases, fact sheets, and speaking points. You will support the creation of upstream seasonal consumer communication plans in partnership with internal stakeholders. You will support the development of Employee Communications plans and storytelling that inform, inspire and enable Converse WE Employees.

You will work with the WE Communications Director to administer allocated budget. This includes invoicing; producing reports, working with finance and updating team on a regular basis.

Who you will work with

Converse operates within a matrixed structure. You will directly report to the WE Communications Director as a part of a WE Communications Team.

As part of the Global Communications organization, you will engage and liase with your Global Communications counterparts at the Global level and across Converse's other Geography teams (NA, Asia, GPM).

As a member of the WE Geography team, you will partner with the WE Communications Director and other functional and territory leads to help develop and execute strategic communications planning.

  • Support in written quarterly business updates, and Converse Connects sessions as directed.
  • Provide input on key employee-facing initiatives at EHQ and on teams across the geography.
  • Use employee data/sentiment to help guide our communication strategy, efficiency, and reach, and link to employee engagement and listening feedback; establish baseline metrics to measure success.
  • Understand business and employee needs and help develop the right templates, tools and channel strategy to support engagement, awareness and collaboration at all levels.
  • Build strong relationships with key collaborators as assigned, understand their communication requirements and provide them with strategic advice and counsel.
  • Support Communications Director to elevate the purpose and role of strategic employee communications and engagement across the organization, building strong partnerships and serve as a trusted partner.
  • Contribute positively to a team culture of trust, engagement and development where ideas are heard, and everyone is included.

What you bring

  • Prior relevant work experience, with previous Communications/PR experience preferred.
  • Experience with a fashion or sneaker brand and clear point of view on the industry, key players and a perspective on where it's headed.
  • Strong writing and organization skills
  • Explicit, long-term interest in pursuing a career in Communications.
  • Base level understanding of media landscape and media relations.
  • Good knowledge of Keynote, PowerPoint, Excel and Google Drive, Contact Database Management Systems, Campign Mailing Systems
  • Experience developing events to increase active users across internal communications channels.
  • Deep knowledge of key cities and territories across Western Europe Geography
  • Proficient written and spoken English

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of sports culture, footwear or apparel industry
  • Experience in internal or employee communications
  • Experience working with high-profile executives
  • High aptitude for creative thinking
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and develop consensus within diverse groups and with peers
  • Ability to understand challenges or underlying concerns, share ideas, and develop effective responses, or elevate to higher management
