WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

As our Air MI WHQ Accounting Lead, you will be part of the Controlling organization, reporting to the Director, Air MI Controller. In this position, you will work cross-functionally with partners in Air MI, Innovation, LER2R, CapEx, Tax and Global Sourcing and Manufacturing in support of critical initiatives. You will also partner with Controlling teammates and other enabling functions such as Legal and Finance to optimally support our business partners in their accounting-related needs.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a teammate who has the ability and curiosity to research and apply US GAAP and operational process requirements to a variety of projects and initiatives. In this role, you will p roactively partner with business and finance teammates to provide valuable accounting insights and guidance as the business makes strategic decisions .

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

You will play an active role p articipating in the development and deployment of Air MI objectives and projects . You will assist in the r eview of arrangements to evaluate and conclude on technical accounting implications and operational feasibility of new strategies, including reporting impact, inter-company considerations, and other technical matters . You will also support the monthly close process to ensure our books and records are complete and accurate.

  • Monthly close and quarterly reporting activities around Air MI's results to Nike Inc consolidated reporting team and Controlling leadership
  • Execution of monthly control activities, including quarterly physical cycle count observations at 3PL
  • Support of Air MI strategic priorities including joining Air MI project teams
  • Communication with technology partners to maintain and update Air MI's instance of SAP
  • Partnering with operational teammates to work through supply chain accounting projects including inventory management, capital projects, and operational expenses.
  • Collaboration with Tax and Legal counterparts to support quarterly tax and regulatory filings

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent, combination of education, experience, or training
  • 5+ years of professional experience in public accounting, industry accounting, finance, or related functions
  • CPA preferred
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SAP ERP strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding and experience with US GAAP and internal controls over financial reporting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to optimally identify, communicate, and influence technical matters, issues, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership
  • Proven ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience, including meeting facilitation and presentations
