Job Summary
Responsible for the evaluation, re-evaluation, development, and implementation of a plan of care in accordance with the preferred practice standards/clinical guidelines for children with a variety of simple to complex upper extremity injuries resulting from trauma, disease, congenital or acquired deformities.
Job Specific Duties
- Participates in interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary meetings and other related meetings that pertain to the care of specific patients.
- Maintains and documents productivity standards set by leaders.

Qualifications
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Florida Professional Occupational Therapist license or Provisional OT license required
- American Heart Association BLS - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
- Finger printing background and Good Moral Character Affidavit must be initiated within 15 days of hire date and finalized within 90 days of hire date
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Masters or Doctoral degree preferred.
- Experience working with orthopedic hand and upper extremity conditions.
- Certified Hand Therapist preferred or currently working towards hand therapy certification.
- Membership with AOTA, FOTA, or ASHT preferred.
- Serves as a clinical instructor for students assigned by CCCE after 2 years of clinical experience.
- Ability to appropriately interact with patients, parents/guardians, and healthcare professionals in all work-related situations.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Analytical ability necessary to evaluate patient condition, to interpret, analyze data, assess patient progress, and determine appropriate follow-up.
- Current in practice standards/clinical guidelines for evaluation, diagnosis, treatment of a variety of simple to complex upper extremity injuries.
- Knowledge of basic orthotic fabrication.
- Knowledge of childhood development.
- Knowledge of Kinesiology and biomechanics relative to the shoulder, elbow, forearm, wrist and hand.
- Knowledge of principles of tissue/wound healing.
- Knowledge of surface anatomy of the shoulder, elbow, forearm, wrist and hand.
