Job Summary

Develops and delivers detailed technology solutions through consulting project activities. Responsibilities include client identification through final invoicing for engagements requiring varied interpersonal and technical skills. Technical responsibilities include problem identification, system architecture definition, hardware/software specification and/or design, implementation, testing, client training, and solution deployment. Performance is typically evaluated based on utilization, (i.e.,billable hours). May have some financial responsibilities including project cost estimating, proposal generation, and invoicing. May participate in sales and proposal presentations in addition to completing ongoing team account activities. Identifies additional product/services opportunities in customer organization. Performance is typically measured by the capture of the consulting engagement and/or delivery of agreed solutions within budgeted hours.

As a Project Manager, you will define, plan, track and manage projects as a part of the Professional Services function. The Professional Services group provides value-added solutions to Enterprise customers including on-site support, services and consulting. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Sales and Engineering, as well as directly with customers, to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Essential Functions

• Ability to manage all aspects of small to medium sized projects including planning, estimating, execution, implementation and on-going support.
• Identify, utilize and manage key resources required to meet project objectives.
• Provide input to manage project variances and change.
• Manage technical and business risk.
• Negotiate, create, or co-author Statements of Work (SOW).
• Responsible for managing to agreed upon budget.
• Provide guidance and/or supervision to up to 25 project team members.
• Interview internal employees and outside partners for resource scheduling.
• Provide input on hiring decisions for new Project Managers.
• Address and resolve high-level customer issues.
• Must be fluent in Japanese

Responsibility and Interaction:

Responsibility:
• The tasks this individual is responsible for are often non-routine and unstructured, requiring creative solutions.
• This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving routine to moderately complex problems.

Interaction:
• This individual must work effectively with Staff to Vice President level employees within the function, and the technical team on assigned projects. There may be communication with employees in other functions as required.
• Limited management direction is provided to employee on new projects or assignments as well as review of activities and priorities.
• The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert on team projects.
• To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through coaching and influencing others.

Job Requirements

• Strong spreadsheet capability and other project management applications as required for reporting, tracking charts, checklists and project scheduling.
• Ability to work collaboratively with, lead and motivate other employees in a team environment to meet aggressive goals and pre-defined timelines.
• Demonstrated ability to manage relationships and project teams.
• Maintains strong verbal and written communications skills
• Ensure all assigned work tasks are completed in an effective and efficient manner
• Exposure and understanding of a variety of technologies/concepts in a distributed environment
• Pre-sales or design build experience with IT vendors and Siers
• Experience in designing and building IT infrastructure
• Experience as a Project Manager (PM) or PL
• Those who can think and take action spontaneously
• Those who have high communication skills and vitality
• English proficiency: Mail, ability to communicate internally and externally
• Japanese language proficiency: Advanced level required
• Career level position for resources with existing professional field experience
• Coordinate with senior customer representatives, Sales teams, and other PS staff in the performance of daily tasks
• Onsite and remote subject matter expert with NetApp, IT infrastructure, applications, and Cloud services
• Provide project design, implementation, and final "As-Built" documentation
• Deliver company marketed solution sets and other custom consulting
• Follow appropriate escalation guidelines, as required, during customer engagements

Education

• A minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience is required; 6 to 8 years total experience is preferred.
• A Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience is required; an MBA is preferred.
• Data storage or systems management experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, moderately complex technical tasks.IC - Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience.Mgr & Exec - Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
