Overview

For this position, the preferred candidate must possess expert configuration, data integration and implementation planning and execution experience for one or more Oracle (Cloud) applications/services: Enterprise Data Management (EDM), Enterprise Performance Management - Account Reconciliation, Reporting, and /or Profitability & Cost Management. Technical experience with financial forecasting and analytics, and experience mentoring team and engaging business partners, to elicit value, and form partnerships. In addition, experience with Annual and NCUA Regulatory Reporting through Workiva, or similar reporting tools, including cloud data management and expert reconciliation/data validation skills.

As ETS Finance Applications Engineer IV, the candidate would understand the business requirements, abstract the requirements, and design a configurable, extensible, scalable, performant, robust solution. The person will be responsible for providing technical solutions to evolve existing applications, ensuring the designed solutions are workable by coding or piloting in key modules, and being agile and innovative to solve business problems. Individuals in this role will work on multiple highly complex projects and require in depth technical knowledge of cloud architecture approach and have mastery of cloud technology stack. In this role, the candidate will be expected to work on multiple projects and be able to collaborate in multiple engagements across the product teams.

Positions in this function would be responsible for delivering professional level technical work in support of the development of applications, tools, platforms and services. The person would need to operate within established methodologies, procedures, and guidelines and apply knowledge of principles and techniques to solve technical problems. Work is self-directed and not prescribed. Work involves understanding the customer's business challenges and coming up with solutions to solve the problem with enhanced features and process flows while including advanced technology components and working with system implementors and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and integration of Finance product technologies with respect to application/enterprise capabilities and software for multiple on-going projects; collaborating closely with principal engineers, enterprise and solution architects, aligning to most current strategies
  • Maintain existing ODI server integrity through the assessment, response and application of appropriate patching, independently, in accordance with NFCU standards
  • Software as a Service - Develop, test, deploy, and iteratively improve product services such as ETL, integrations, workflows, cloud connections, API Review, and UI Collaboration
  • Platform as a Service - Design, implementation, documentation, and support of infrastructure, and configuration management
  • Apply engineering principles to the design and enhancement of systems
  • Perform engineering tasks/assignments in support of business needs
  • Perform research, procurement, deployment and configuration of systems
  • Document new system components, or modifications to existing components
  • Ensure the security and integrity of system and product solutions
  • Full life-cycle project management
  • Lead, guide and mentor less experienced staff
  • Present clear, organized & concise information to audiences to enable business decisions
  • Provide input and make budgetary recommendations regarding staffing and equipment
  • Provide technical leadership in architecture discipline & development of IT solutions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Significant experience in one or more of the following: systems engineering, software engineering, information systems management, etc. at the enterprise level in a large multi-function organization, preferably at a large financial services organization
  • The position will require both functional analysis skills, technical development skills, and to have thorough understanding of the development lifecycle, including software design, development, testing, and support of web applications
  • Extensive, and specific configuration and integration experience with Oracle Financial Applications under Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), Cloud Infrastructure/Solutions in at minimum one (1) application:
    • Performance and Cost Management, including financial concepts, and data modeling
    • Enterprise Data Management, including ETL, EPM Automate, ODI
    • Account Reconciliation Cloud Service, including data mapping, integration, reporting
    • Narrative Reporting
    • Planning & Budgeting (formerly Hyperion)
  • Strong and hands-on extensive experience in Java, J2EE, SQL and preferably ADF, Rest Services, ESS, Elastic Search, and backend performance tuning
  • Hands-on experience in development tools like NetBeans, Eclipse, Toad/SQL Developer
  • Experience in SQL (Oracle or MS SQL)
  • Significant experience maintaining server currency, according to common standards. Application of patches through assessment, test and deployment
  • Significant experience with Object Oriented Programming languages (e.g., C#, C, C++, Java, Python, .NET, etc.)
  • Significant experience with private, public and hybrid cloud infrastructure designing, developing, and deploying complex cloud to cloud data integration (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, etc.)
  • Significant experience in building and managing common platforms (e.g., Service Now, Pega, Share point Online, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Significant experience with Agile software development practices including Scrum, JIRA, Peer Review, Git and CI/CD
  • Advanced knowledge of continuous integration and deployment and tools chain (e.g., GIT, Jenkins, Maven, RunDeck, Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge of discipline engineering principles, practices, and theories, and methods to identify and solve the highest complex problems and perform sophisticated analyses
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of the end-to-end IT process, including architecture, design & engineering, implementation, and operations
  • Significant experience in cloud migration and engineering cloud centric environments
  • Self-motivated and proactive, able to learn quickly and apply new concepts, tools and applications
  • Expert verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Advance knowledge of Finance or Accounting
  • Advanced knowledge of banking/financial industry trends, products, and services
  • Advanced knowledge of Navy Federal products, services, programs, policies and procedures
  • Technical certifications for Pega, AEC, Dynamics 365, and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
