Overview

To design, develop, implement and maintain new IT solutions, or changes/enhancements to existing solutions that align with business initiatives and corporate strategies. Complete complex/unusual tasks under minimal supervision requiring advanced analysis. Cloud Development: The Cloud Computing focus specializes in the delivery of the computing services and the duties associated with it such as designing, planning, administering, developing, or maintaining applications in the cloud-based environments.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analysis; make recommendations
  • Serve as mentor/trainer and provide guidance and assistance to team members
  • Analyze, define and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating systems environment, interface with other systems, internal and external controls and output
  • Design and code application solutions; integrate changes to applications
  • Develop and maintain solution documentation
  • Identifying business requirements (e.g. needs, objectives, functions, features, input and output)
  • Maintain and monitor systems/applications after implementation
  • Prepare test data; conduct unit and string testing; debug code and systems components
  • Research emerging technologies and recommend solutions that align with business goals
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application/solution problems
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Provide oversight and responsibility in following the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) utilizing Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) practices
  • Provides subject matter expertise and mentorship in developing system software code using commonly known best practices. Willing to adhere to NFCU standards and policies regarding software development
  • Responsible for consistent, concise, relevant, reliable and timely information to all appropriate internal and external stakeholders through a variety of communication channels
  • Works directly with Technology Product Analysts to support the development of the project backlog, to include daily Scrum meetings; user story refinement; sprint management

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in working with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, vendors
  • Advanced knowledge of application development including determining, developing, testing, and implementing system requirements; designing, coding, debugging applications
  • Advanced database and presentation software skills
  • Advanced organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Advanced skill analyzing and organizing problems or work processes for technical solutions
  • Advanced skill applying innovative approaches to solve technical design issues
  • Advanced skill designing and deploying new, upgraded and/or existing systems
  • Advanced skill in systems analysis, workflow, or procedural analysis
  • Advanced skill resolving conflicting requests and meeting changing requirements
  • Advanced skill troubleshooting and resolving technical problems
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective research, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
  • Three (3) plus years of advanced experience/knowledge in Web Services, including: WSDL; SOAP/XML based web services, RESTful web services
  • Seven (7) plus years of recent advanced experience and programming knowledge in distributed Java, Java EE and Spring Framework, Servlets, Struts, JSP, JSF, JSTL, JMS, JNDI, JDBC, JAXB, ORMs (Hibernate, Ibatis, Mybatis), build automation scripts (Maven, Ant) and automated testing (Junit, Mockito)
  • Three (3) plus years of advanced experience/knowledge in Azure Cloud concepts (or similar cloud platform), technologies, and event-based architecture
  • Five (5) plus years of technical leadership experience leading software teams through the software development life‑cycle of an agile model

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of credit union operations/processes and procedures
  • Advanced knowledge of Navy Federal Project Portfolio Management (PPM) knowledge
