Overview
Participates in design, development and implementation of systems engineering activities, to include OS technical support, systems programming and data center capabilities. Primary responsibility will be for inbound and outbound file transfers via both SFTP and Connect Direct. Current jobs are largely manual and seeking automated solutions to both, specifically with exception handling to account for changes in times of day, number of files, etc on a daily / weekly / quarterly basis. Secondary responsibilities will stem from file transfer in support of applications, business processes, and systems which rely upon those files. Providing input and technical expertise on any other initiatives within global technology will be needed as the environment and the requirements upon it are continually changing.

Responsibilities
This System Engineer / Data Security Specialist role is responsible for a full range of activities, which ensures the operational effectiveness and excellence of the various system/data security technologies used by the Overseas Military Banking Program. This role is responsible for designing, analyzing, and managing the organization's technology systems and data security infrastructure according to best practices, while ensuring high levels of data quality and availability. This highly dynamic position will require the ability to manage multiple technical project engagements requiring the candidate to be a team player whom can also work independently in managing to multiple deadlines, priorities and diverse set of applications and requirements. Candidate will be a strong engineering minded individual with polished collaboration, written, and communication skills and a proven track record interacting with various levels of management, clients and technical team members in delivering technology solutions. Must be on call and able to work nights and weekends to support applications, infrastructure, and end users globally.
Qualifications
- Expertise in file transfer concepts specifically with IBM Sterling Connect Direct with an emphasis on automating transfers with that application and exception handling
- Knowledge of SFTP (CrushFTP a plus) with an emphasis on automation
- Knowledge of certificates and their implementation in various environments (IIS, SQL, Applications)
- Active Directory Administration
- M365 / Exchange Online / MS Entra Administration
- Microsoft Windows Server and Windows desktop Operating Systems - linux experience a plus
- DNS \DHCP
- LAN \ WAN\ WLAN \ MPLS networking concepts
- Microsoft Office Applications
- Software Deployment / System Imaging experience
- Proven ability to resolve project issues/mitigate project risk by negotiating solutions that meet expected results
- Identify and define system and security requirements
- Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve issues independently and document results for future reference
- Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information
- Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols
- Consult with vendors and project teams on technical and security requirements
- Ability to work independently and directly with service partners in a highly professional manner
