ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Staff QA Engineer who is passionate about testing our mobile and web apps from concept to delivery. You will develop test cases, maintain test plans, and execute manual functional tests. You will work cross-functionally with our R&D team to ensure that Navan provides exceptional personal travel booking, rewards & group travel experiences. You can work with various technologies from web and mobile front-end to back-end distributed web services. You will have ownership over the quality of major deliverables and collaborate with multiple engineers and teams to drive success.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Execute manual functional test cases.
  • Design, develop, and maintain functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Help define, improve, and implement QA best practices and work with the team to set alerting/monitoring.
  • Monitor production and focus on user experience
  • Design and implement end-to-end test scenarios from multiple use cases
  • Work as part of an Agile scrum team, focusing on testing mobile and web functionality and expanding automation coverage
  • Design and implement test strategies for new and existing features
  • Create, prioritize, and organize test cases into logical suites for manual execution
  • Run automation testing scripts
  • Utilize quality assurance techniques to find, isolate, troubleshoot, and report bug.s
  • Write test cases and execute them.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
  • 3+ years of software quality assurance engineering
  • Experience developing test strategies, test plans, and test cases
  • Experience driving quality through the process, instrumentation, requirements, and testing
  • Good understanding of automation frameworks
  • Solid knowledge of test management, reporting and bug-tracking tools (TestRail, Jira or similar)
  • Experience with continuous integration processes and tools (Jenkins, Maven)
  • Experience with writing test cases, and executing them manually
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in usability best practices; ability to influence and improve user experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues, investigate root causes of bugs
  • Knowledge of code repo/review tools (GIT, Bitbucket or similar)
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal direction

STRONGLY PREFERRED

  • Experience with Android & iOS app testing
  • Experience with writing automation scripts for Web (Cypress)

The posted pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the compensation for this position and is subject to change based on business need. To determine a successful candidate’s starting pay, we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location, an evaluation of the candidate’s skills and experience, market demands, and internal parity.

For roles with on-target-earnings (OTE), the pay range includes both base salary and target incentive compensation. Target incentive compensation for some roles may include a ramping draw period. Compensation is higher for those who exceed targets. Candidates may receive more information from the recruiter.
