Monitoring and Observability team under DevOps Platform is seeking an energetic, innovative, and passionate software engineer who is interested to join our tribe. The candidate will be joining a high-performing team that is passionate and motivated about building solutions, maintaining availability of monitoring tools and automation. Successful Members of the DevOps Platform Team are full-stack engineers who have proven knowledge in all stages of software development; building enterprise-class software applications from front-end to back-end across multiple technology layers including: Front End Development, API Design and DevOps functions while also including infrastructure server/ configuration automation. Working with the vendor to support and resolve issues of the product is required as most of the tools in this area are SaaS/Managed Services solutions provided by 3rd party vendors.

We are looking for someone:

  • Experience with Scripting and Programming (Python, Java Script , bash/sh, etc.)
  • Experience working in both Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Experience working with REST APIs
  • Experience with code versioning (Git) and Cloud Native development (Kubernetes)
  • Experience utilizing cloud technologies such as AWS (specifically S3, EC2, CloudFormation) or Azure
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
  • Understanding of Agile concepts and teaching others
  • Proven ability to work in a highly dynamic team and learn quickly
  • Effectively communicate to members of the team and customers
  • Eager to uplift their skillset and keep up with industry trends
  • Identification of Continuous Improvement opportunities to streamline our services
  • Monitor the health of the product to ensure availability and provide production support for Monitoring and Observability products
  • Seek automation opportunities to enable ease of use for customers

As a Software Engineer, you will focus primarily on providing high quality, efficient technology solutions to business partners by crafting new software applications or modifying and/or supporting existing packaged or custom-built applications. In this capacity, you’ll analyze, code, configure, test, debug, document and maintain applications.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes, solutions, develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards in an agile environment.

  • Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques.

  • Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice and innovation.

  • Manages medium to large project priorities, deadlines and deliverables proactively.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to a Technology Manager/Director. 

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Completion of undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree. 

Experience: Four or more years of analysis and technology experience.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript. Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle complex business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence. 

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resources Business Partner.
