Job Description

Program Features:

  • Tailored Orientation: The program begins with an extensive orientation period that is customized to prepare associates for success in the financial services industry.

  • Mentoring and Coaching: Executive mentors from our financial leadership team provide one-on-one leadership development and career advice throughout the program and beyond. Coaching and feedback is a cornerstone of the Nationwide culture and is provided before, during and after each rotation assignment.

  • Meaningful Assignments: Associates are placed in high-impact, high profile assignments that have been designed to assess a participant and help them develop leadership and technical skills.

  • Continuous Learning: Curriculum is specifically designed to improve technical skills, communication/presentation skills and develop leadership capabilities.

  • Professional Networking: Associates take part in one-on-one meetings with Finance leaders. Additional networking opportunities will provide associates exposure to senior executives and leaders from across the organization to gain knowledge and relationships beyond Finance.

  • Reporting relationships will be determined based on the needs of the program.

Rotational Program Staffing:

  • Rotational, program-based staffing is a temporary (typically two years) job assignment. The limited life of this assignment distinguishes a "program" position from most other positions. Because of the temporary status of the project job, the need for specific skills and a fair administration of compensation for program associates, program jobs are not banded to a particular salary grade range.

  • Individuals hired would receive a starting salary based on their offer letter. In some cases, there may be an opportunity to receive a placement bonus. Associates in the rotational program would be eligible for an annual base salary adjustment, based on performance, during the normal merit increase review process as well as a short-term incentive annual bonus based on business unit and individual performance. Performance evaluations will be conducted as they would on any job as appropriate.

  • Prior to the end of the assignment, Human Resources will be notified by the program leader, and will assist the rotational program associate for a period of 60 calendar days, if qualified, in the search for another position. The success of the associate in securing a position is contingent upon prior related work experience, satisfactory performance in the program and the availability of open positions matching the associate's skills and experience. The associate is expected to compete for positions with other Nationwide associates and/or external applicants. There is no guarantee that the associate leaving the program will secure another position. The department head must approve extensions to the 60-day time frame.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: MBA with a concentration in finance is required; solid academic achievement (minimum 3.2/4.0 GPA preferred).
