Department Overview:

The WM Platforms organization manages platforms and experiences across the Advisor, Workplace and Direct channels, ensuring that our capabilities lead the industry and are delivered and integrated seamlessly.

The WM Field Experience & Platforms (WMFEP) sits within WM Platforms and drives technology strategy to deliver superior experiences and investment capabilities to our advisors and clients. The team partners closely with business and technology groups to lead end-to-end execution of platform enhancements, from initial idea generation through implementation and roll-out. Investment Platforms coverage spans across Financial Planning, Advisory Platforms (WealthDesk and the Portfolio Risk Platform powered by BlackRock Aladdin), Investment Solutions platforms, FA Platforms including 3D, CRM and Client Reporting, Product Platforms and Asset Movement.

Job Overview (daily/weekly/monthly tasks, long-term projects, etc.)

The role will support the WM Field Experience & Platforms Strategy & Business Management team to evaluate and execute strategic & technology solutions to enhance or optimize our existing WM business platforms. The position will:
• Manage program delivery ensuring clear communication regarding priorities, progress, schedule and assessment of risks and issues
• Work in partnership with stakeholders across businesses, technology, and designers to create and consolidate portfolio strategy across WM Field Experience & Platform organization
• Identify cross-impacts, dependencies and impediments to progress and ensure actionable next steps are addressed
• Lead the creation and regularly review of key performance metrics to inform decision making and track success of the programs
• Ensure WM Platforms leadership and stakeholders are engaged around the right topics at the right time and supported by relevant information and reporting
• Assist with the project management responsibilities including conceptualizing project timelines, reporting of key milestones, and prioritizing tasks for project stakeholders across the WMSS COO Team
  • Have a high level of interaction with senior leaders of MSWM as well as functional leads across the firm
  • Develop Senior Management level presentations to share key information and status updates regarding strategic project updates across the WMFEP platform
  • Lead ad-hoc project management efforts & strategic initiatives as they arise

Experience & Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required
• 5+ years of experience in financial services, wealth management, product management and/or business strategy/management related fields
• Deep experience solving business problems, improving complex processes, establishing business strategy, and leading large-scale initiatives
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to define complex business problems, synthesize data, and execute on tactical and strategic solutions
• Ability to be solutions- and detail-oriented and quickly turnaround high-quality work without sacrificing speed or accuracy
• Ability to develop a meaningful and effective network across divisions and innate ability to collaborate effectively and lead others outside of a direct reporting-line
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive change and foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and senior stakeholders.
• Proactive self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and work ethic
• Track record of success and a demonstrated ability to exercise good judgement and discretion
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly in Excel, PowerPoint and Visio

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $185,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
