Desktop Platform Integration & Engineering is responsible for Windows Desktop Engineering within the WS Organization. The position is primarily focused on Windows Desktop Engineering with strong focus on platform integration. The position is highly technical and hands-on with a focus on Windows desktop. The ideal candidate will have a very strong technical foundation as well as a strategic mindset, good communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with others.

What you'll do in the role:
  • Windows Desktop General Engineering
  • Creation of Application Profiles based on Business Requirements
  • Create automation scripts (using PowerShell, VBScript, etc.)
  • Change and Release Management for Windows Desktop OS and Applications
  • Creation of Desktop Performance Baselines for Windows Desktop Platform
  • Evaluate Desktop Products and Tools and provide solutions to support integration initiatives
  • Creation of test case scenarios based on environmental considerations (Supported hardware models, Application profiles)
  • Creation and maintenance of Desktop Build Documentation
  • Manage Operations for Integration Engineering Services lab environment

What you'll bring to the role:
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows Operating System Internals and Microsoft based applications and technologies
  • Deep technical understanding of Windows infrastructure services (e.g. AD, GPO, CIFS, DFS) within the enterprise
  • Deep technical understanding of Web Browser Technologies
  • Experience managing system and user configuration across large, distributed environments
  • Strong troubleshooting mindset (i.e. parsing event log, sysinternals tools, analyzing memory dumps)
  • Strong scripting knowledge (PowerShell is a priority additionally Batch, WMI, VBScript, etc.)
  • Software Integration, Packaging, Distribution and Patch Management using MSI, SCCM
  • Ability to write technical and operational management documentation (system design and engineering documents, operational run books)
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (i.e. VMware, XenServer, Citrix) is a plus
  • Experience in Performance Engineering in large Enterprise Windows Environments
  • Experience in monitoring tools for Network and Workstations, including but not limited to SevOne, Perfmon, SysTrack, Splunk
  • Experience in Database Administration is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $168,500 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
