Professionals within Legal and Compliance provide a wide range of services to our business units. They might help to structure a complex and sensitive cross-border transaction; advise on a new product introduction; develop a training program or defuse an investor dispute. They preserve the firm's invaluable reputation for integrity and protect the firm from sanctions with policies and procedures that meet regulatory requirements around the world. They also strive to maintain cooperative relationships with governmental policy makers and the regulatory and self-regulatory agencies that govern the firm's businesses.

The WM Compliance Tester conducts various reviews throughout Wealth Management. The focus of the reviews is to utilize a risk-based methodology to evaluate the effectiveness of key internal controls related to but not limited to regulations, external standards, or firm policies. The person in the role will assist the WM Compliance Testing in completing its annual test plan, communicating to senior management, and providing recommendations for improvements.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assisting in the preparation of test planning memoranda
  • Identifying and evaluating key risks and contribute to establishing test scope
  • Leading walkthrough meetings and discussions with the purpose of developing test scope and identifying control issues
  • Developing and executing audits in line with global monitoring and testing standards
  • Maintaining detailed and organized documentation of work product
  • Appropriately assessing potential findings for significance and root cause
  • Drafting test reports; writing clear and concise findings
  • Communicating test findings to WM Testing management and clients; assist with negotiating and finalization of findings and corrective action plans with senior client management
  • Tracking implementation of recommended corrective action plans designed to strengthen internal controls to completion
  • Performing validation testing of new or updated controls
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with Business, Compliance, Legal and Risk groups

Skills Required:
  • 5+ years of Financial Services Industry Experience
  • Global Compliance Testing Experience a Plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Analytical and research skills
  • Ability to interact with diverse teams
  • Ability to work and make independent decisions associated with Compliance testing protocols
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated individual

Maryland:

Salary range for the position: $75,000 - $120,000 Yr. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
