ROLE SUMMARY
Reporting to the Head of Brand PR and Social Media, this role is responsible for helping shape and execute consistent, compelling, and impactful proactive brand communications that support Morgan Stanley's evolving enterprise brand platform and position the firm for today and tomorrow.

In close collaboration with the Firmwide Marketing and Corporate Communications teams, this individual will assist in proactively identifying opportunities to promote our narrative; build/maintain relationships with target media; liaise with target media to place and shape stories that are accretive to the brand; leverage our brand sponsorships and partnerships in new and innovative ways; and ensure that our key messages in various channels, inclusive of social media, are aligned with our brand platform.

An exciting opportunity on a nimble, creative team to help shape Morgan Stanley as a house of brands positioned for future prosperity and engage both current clients and next-gen prospects in the process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Team Collaboration: Serve as a key member of the Firmwide marketing team, interacting with critical functional partners (tech, legal, compliance, corporate communications) as well as third-party agency partners. Ensure optimal level of integration and collaboration on Brand communications planning and opportunities; assist with ensuring synergistic messaging and consistency across all channels and bringing innovative ideas to the table that will help drive earned media and social buzz.
- Public Relations: Help to execute on a proactive public relations program to favorably position the Brand and our sponsorships, partnerships, etc. and create surround sound within the trade, business, and consumer press through high impact, breakthrough campaigns, activations and external storytelling.
- Executive Social and Events: Provide leadership support for the firm's executive social program including liaising with participating teams to develop content strategies, assessing and reporting back on key performance metrics, and evangelizing the program more broadly within the firm. Also, provide support to the firm's CMO etc as thought leaders in the field and support on presentations, speech writing, media briefings, etc.
- Risk Mitigation: Oversee the development of risk assessments related to potential partnerships the firm is considering. Conduct thorough reviews across social and earned media to ensure that the business is considering alignment to our brand values.
- Content Creation: Contribute to the development of key materials inclusive of press releases, media pitches & collaborate with FW Marketing Content and Brands teams on social media posts and award submissions to build brand awareness and engage new audiences with the Morgan Stanley brand and associated entities. The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience in communications/PR/journalism. This will be a high-energy, enthusiastic and highly collaborative team player with exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, who can position Morgan Stanley effectively as an integrated firm. A demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work across multiple projects simultaneously is instrumental.

Additional qualifications include:
- Experience developing and executing comprehensive communication, content and messaging, media, and public relations programs across a variety of deliverables and audiences. Proven experience with creative storytelling and executing activation programs that break through into the mainstream media and shift perceptions of a brand.
- Skilled writer and editor with outstanding attention to detail; experience crafting and editing high-quality strategic communications for key target audiences.
- Expertise in managing a team and allocating and prioritizing work accordingly while providing continuous coaching to optimize performance.
- Strong relationship management skills and experience working with senior executives as well as stakeholders cross-functionally and in global markets.
- Experience/knowledge of techniques for driving reputation and brand and advancing messaging in the market.
- Creative thinker who can disseminate the firm's message in new and innovative ways.
- Familiarity with financial services preferred.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $190,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
