The Private Markets Distribution (PMD) team is a global team responsible for leading and driving all capital formation activities for MSIM's Private Markets platform. The team works closely with the investment teams, the global sales teams, marketing, and senior leadership to plan and execute private capital raises.

PMD is responsible for the growth of our private markets business with a goal of growing Revenue and AUM across private credit, private equity, and real assets investors.
PMD has dedicated specialists who in collaboration with others within MSIM design, plan, choreograph and execute strategy and capital formation. PMD also has sales specialists who are both strategy and regionally focused; these professionals work in collaboration with our sales teams to raise private capital.
As a Vice President in PMD, you will be responsible, for designing, planning, leadings and executing strategy creation, capital formation and off-cycle strategy maintenance - across multiple private markets strategies simultaneously, and supporting several PMD Sales Specialists who are actively developing and maintaining relationships with the private market counterparts among our institutional clients and prospects and growing our Revenue and AUM with them.
What you'll do in the role
- Work in close partnership with the PMD Sales Specialists, Sales and the Investment Teams to develop prospect lists and execute on a client by client engagement strategy
- Work in partnership with the PMD Sales Specialists and Institutional Sales Team to cultivate client leads and facilitate relationship building and client engagement for alternative investment strategies
- Work in close partnership with the consultant relations team to triangulate consultant / client relationships
- Develop client engagement content to facilitate both on and "off-cycle" sales efforts across all PC&E strategies
- Develop a post-close analysis and "off-cycle" marketing plan for each capital raise
- Develop and automate the monitoring of client engagement and capital raising reporting across products through all capital raising cycles
- Active in the development of new strategies to expand the PC&E product suite
- Own and manage the distribution requirements for all offering and marketing materials
- Work in cooperation with Marketing, Compliance and Legal on product development.
What you'll bring to the role
- 8-10 years' experience in financial services, preferably with strategy / distribution experience in an institutional setting (private capital raising or private capital markets experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of the private markets and alternative market along with experience executing capital raising strategies
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills, team-oriented and collaborative; management experience preferred
- Ability to work well under pressure including a proven ability to multi-task and re-prioritize on the fly
- Highly team-oriented and collaborative mindset.
- Results-oriented thinker who embraces accountability.
- Self-starter with "can-do" attitude and approach
Wage Transparency Statement
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $225,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
