We're seeking someone to join our team as an Employee Relations Advisor. In this role, you will partner with Human Resources Business Partners, Employment Legal and others to investigate allegations of inappropriate behavior, advise on complex HR matters, and help to formulate, revise and communicate HR policies on a range of topics in accordance to changes in the government labor standards.
In the Human Resources department, we provide advice and insight to attract, retain, reward and develop a talented global workforce, giving employees the support and tools, they need to succeed. This is a Vice President level position within the Asia HR Management team.

What you'll do in the role:
- Manage investigations into a range of ER-related matters in Japan and Asia, including complaints of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and workplace bullying.
- Assist HR Business Partners with the management of complex HR matters, including in relation to background checks, extended absences, and performance management.
- Prepare and deliver training sessions for HR Business Partners, Business Units and senior management on a range of ER-related topics.
- Develop, implement and review HR polices on a range of topics, to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and implement best practice across the Firm.
- Compile and review data from ER cases, to determine trends and develop proactive strategies to remediate risk within the Firm.
- Support management on the continued build out of the ER function within the region and globally.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Level - VP (8+ years of experience)
- Proven experience in the conduct of ER investigations in an investment banking environment (preferred)
- Proficiency in both English and Japanese preferred
- Ability to:
o exercise good judgment in the handling of complex and sensitive matters
o maintain objectivity and composure during challenging situations
o work collaboratively with HR Business Partners, Employment Legal and others
o influence senior management to ensure appropriate outcomes in ER matters
o quickly build relationships and credibility with a variety of stakeholders
o communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing
o balance multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
