The Training Design and Development Team creates custom learning solutions for Morgan Stanley Wealth Management field audiences. Training materials cover a range of topics including systems training, product support, and career development. This role will focus primarily on leading the creation of custom training deliverables in support of new programs, system processes, technology releases, and Firm initiatives. Our goal is to create an innovative personalized learning experience in everything we do. Training Design Advisors act as project managers across multiple coverage areas and lead teams of Instructional Designers in creating custom training solutions. Candidates must have a foundational understanding of instructional design models and experience with interactive training.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet with business and technology owners to understand project details and downstream impacts to existing processes
  • Build and maintain key relationships with Business, Technology, Operations and Product teams
  • Conduct needs assessments based on audience
  • Define learning objectives and develop a customized training plan
  • Lead a team of up to 7 instructional designers on site and across Morgan Stanley locations
  • Lead the design and development of custom learning deliverables
  • Manage the content lifecycle to ensure content remains accurate and relevant
  • Manage team capacity and set project timelines

Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • 5+ years in financial services setting
  • 7+ years in training, instructional design or creative services role
  • 3+ years of project/program management
  • 3+ years of people/resource management
  • Advanced knowledge of learning experience design, ideally in a highly regulated market
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with adult learning theories and the instructional design process
  • Possess exemplary communication, presentation, organization and time-management skills
  • Foundational knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and Articulate Storyline 360
  • Eye for detail. Can work independently and is entrepreneurial
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with tight timelines
  • Establish, maintain and support strong working relationships with Business Partners, Support Staff, Financial Advisors and Product Team members
  • Provide feedback, coaching and guidance to Instructional and Learning Experience Designers
  • Be authorized to work in the U.S. without durational restrictions
  • Successfully complete background check and pre-employment assessments
  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 66 (or equivalent) considered a plus
  • Must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or other training/technology/business related degree

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $160,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
