Wealth Management Product Technology (WMPT) is a dynamic and fast-paced area within the Firm's WM Technology Division. We are responsible for creating innovative technology solutions for the Private Banking Group (PBG), one of the strategic growth areas of the Firm, providing cash management and lending products and services to our WM clients. This includes state-of-the-art technology for a nationwide network of Private Bankers and product specialists who work with Financial Advisors to provide access to products and services such as online banking, cards, deposit products, residential mortgages, securities-based loans and tailored lending. The position is for a Technology Risk Manager, focusing on support for Morgan Stanley's two U.S. Banks: Morgan Stanley Bank, National Association (MSBNA) and Morgan Stanley Private Bank, National Association (MSPBNA). These banks are independent national banks and wholly owned subsidiaries of Morgan Stanley. Because of their national bank charters and ability to attract stable insured deposits, the Banks represent valuable franchise-enhancing strategic assets to the Firm.

The U.S. Banks Tech Risk & Governance team is responsible for supporting Bank business and growth by managing the provision of technology within a regulatory-compliant, risk-managed framework in a cost-effective manner. The team is seeking an experienced Technology Risk Manager to provide ongoing support and management of regulatory matters as relevant to the Banks' technology risk landscape.

Job Functions/Duties and Responsibilities:

As US Banks IT Risk Manager, support US Banks and its Business Units (BU) by providing governance and oversight of the technology services provided by the Firm.

o Ensure that services are:

o within a regulatory compliance

o according to established risk-management frameworks

o in a cost effective and efficient manner

Contribute to the execution of US Bank the risk management initiatives such as Operation Risk Enhancement Program (OREP)

Contribute to the execution of Firm Technology the risk management initiatives such as Control Enhancement Program, Technology Risk Reduction Program (TRP)

Contribute to key regulatory and risk initiatives such as MRA remediation.

Track Bank-impacting technology risks and influence the prioritization of remediation activities.

Quarterly Risk Self-Assessment (RSA) Guidance - provide overview of the Banks' / BU Technology risk landscape incl. the reporting on remediation activities.

Execute controls assessment and manage / govern the Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) activities; Ensure that technology risks are appropriately included in the US Banks / Bank BU RCSA

Oversight of the Incident Management risk assessment & reporting process

Control Governance - ensure that Control Governance activities are conducted in accordance with ORD's Framework.

For areas of focus (Incident and Problem Management (IPM), Technology Risk Management (TRM) & Service Level Management (SLM) contribute to metrics and other reporting on risk exposures and remediation activity.

Skills Required:

8+ years of experience in a similar role in large bank, with practical knowledge of bank regulatory oversight

Sound understanding of risk assessment methodologies and industry technology risk management frameworks. Knowledge of related laws and regulations including OCC Heightened Standards for Large Banks, 12 CFR 30 Safety and Soundness Standards.

High level of attention to detail

Strong analytical skills with competence to solve problems independently and drive tasks to completion.

Strong communication skills with the ability to summarize complex information clearly for technical and non-technical audiences.

Show an appropriate level of judgment and maturity.

Skills Desired:

Prior experience working in a large bank

Strong project management skills

Industry certifications are a plus

Education:

Minimum bachelor's degree

* CRISK, CISA, CISM, CISSP certifications a plus

We're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $160,000 and $210,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs
